You remember Strawberry Shortcake - that adorable, wholesome, colorful girl who was your best bud back in the 80’s? Well, here’s something you might not remember - she’s actually pretty funny! Underneath that poufy hat and behind her giggling smile, Strawberry Shortcake has some inner sass dying to come out. But she needs your help expressing it!
Tongalers, lend Strawberry your clever wit for some hilarious stop-motion videos. Her current movies are “for kids” but this next batch should be packed with the kind of humor that makes them worth watching for adults, too. So let's hear your Concepts for some hysterical stop-motion Strawberry Shortcake adventures that’ll crack up kids and parents alike. Concepts should lend themselves to a series since there Videos will be produced in suites. Please note that the brand is also open to Concepts that don't involve dialogue.
===SPLIT===
The goal of this project is for two filmmakers to each create four stop-motion videos 60-90-seconds long featuring Strawberry Shortcake and friends. The Videos should be fun and funny, but must appeal to a broad audience so that little girls and their parents alike would want to watch. Strawberry grew up in the 80s, and those who loved her back then are parents now, with kids of their own. So we need to remind them of how awesome Strawberry is, and throw them some catchy humor to boot.
PLEASE NOTE: The winning filmmakers must submit a few clips of their work by 6/5, before the final deadline. The brand needs some content for a meeting so you will have to begin work as soon as the winning Pitches are announced.

PHASE 1: CONCEPT – Tell us your Concept for a suite of Strawberry Shortcake stop-motion episodes in 250 characters or fewer. Your Concept should be able to play out in a theme of four Videos. The winning Concept creators will receive $500 each and a 5% one-time residual payment for any winning Videos based on their Idea. (That means if your winning Concept is the basis for the 1st place Video, you will receive $1,100, the 2nd place Video $850) – see Video Phase Payout details for more information.
PHASE 2: SCRIPT- Submit your script for one of the 60-90-second humorous Videos in the suite featuring Strawberry and her friends. If selected as the winner, you will receive $1,000 and will need to write the remaining 3 scripts in the set of four in the days following.
PHASE 3: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What Is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Scripts from the previous Phase using:
The 2 most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $4,000 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winnerswill also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $17,000, at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $22,000 First Place video prize (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Idea winners). For an example of an effective Pitch, check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 4: VIDEO – The 2 winners from the Pitch Phase will each create FOUR 60-90-second Videos based upon their winning Pitch.
The Judges will score the 2 winning Video suites submitted by Pitch winners to determine the standings for the Video Phase. Remember, the 2 Pitch winners will receive prizes.
--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $22,000 and 2nd place $17,000 (less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to the Concept winners, as applicable).
