It’s four p.m. on a Friday and the team manager has called another meeting. You’re scanning the room looking for a box of free doughnuts and that’s when you see it. Oh no! That can only mean one thing: another boring corporate video. For the next half hour, your eyes glaze over as you listen to some talking head drone on endlessly about synergy.
Surely, there’s a better way. Well, that’s where you come in. A leading professional services company is creating a new internal video, and they want your help. This three-to-five minute video will communicate the company’s value proposition to their employees. Think of it more as an internal PSA rather than a training video. There’s a lot of information to impart, so they’re looking for ideas to keep it engaging.
How can the company convey all this info in an interesting way? Come up with a captivating set-up or framing story for the video to get all these points across.
The goal of this project is to come up with an idea for an entertaining and engaging way to communicate a company’s value proposition to employees in an internal video. Find a great framing story or set-up that’ll help impart a lot of information but keep it from getting too dry or boring.
--Target Audience: All company employees.
--Executional Mandatories:
--Tone: Engaging, interesting. Humor is ok but nothing cartoonish.
--Exposure: For internal company use: distributing via email, conference meetings or the company’s intranet.
This Project will be worth a total of $2,500 ($500 for each winning idea) and consists of an Idea Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: IDEA – Tell us your Idea for an engaging way to frame this internal PSA in 140 characters or less. Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging. The winning Idea creators will receive $500 each.
