Background

ABOUT WEIGHTWATCHERS:

For over 60 years, WeightWatchers has helped millions of people lose weight. Over that time, they've innovated and improved their program based on the latest in nutritional and behavioral science. The WeightWatchers app has been updated, and the program has evolved to fit the needs of members, but importantly, at the end of the day, WeightWatchers has always been a sustainable, flexible path to weight loss rooted in the power of community. No cutting out food groups, no extreme dieting, no one-size fits all approach.

ABOUT ZEROPOINT FOODS:

Upon joining WeightWatchers, members receive access to the 200+ ZeroPoint foods database. ZeroPoint foods are everyday items like non-starchy veggies, fruit, eggs, fat-free yogurt, fish and shellfish, poultry, corn and popcorn, and so much more. Since these foods are 0 Points, there's no need to track or measure how much you eat. ZeroPoint foods are go-to foods that make up the foundation of healthy eating, taking the guesswork out of knowing what to eat, and because you don’t have to track them, they make the WeightWatchers program easy to follow.

ZeroPoint foods are:

🍳The foundation of healthy eating—and go beyond fruits & veggies

🥗Go-to foods that add flexibility and livability to your plan

🍉 No-track, no-measure foods you can eat no matter how many Points you have left

🌽Everywhere! Find them at restaurants, in the grocery store, and on vacation

🌟 Unique to WeightWatchers

We make hundreds of decisions about what to eat every single day, and as the day goes on, our energy to keep doing so becomes depleted. ZeroPoint foods reduce the need to make conscious in-the-moment decisions by providing a go-to list to reach for. Over time, choosing ZeroPoint foods becomes second nature, so nutritious eating and better habits stick.

HOW ZEROPOINT FOODS WORK:

ZeroPoint foods make the program flexible while guiding you toward healthier eating habits, so you’ve got options for incorporating these MVPs into your day.

Objectives

*More of a techie than a foodie? Check out this other WeightWatchers brief about its award-winning app*

When you're trying to lose weight, tracking every single thing you eat can be difficult and annoying. WeightWatchers gets it. That's why ZeroPoint™ foods are a core part of the WeightWatchers program. ZeroPoint foods have—you guessed it—0 Points® because they serve as the foundation of healthy eating. Full of fiber and protein, these foods also support overall health, keep you full, and bulk up and add flavor to your meals. Check out more information about ZeroPoint foods in the Background.

There are some shockingly surprising ZeroPoint foods and unexpected ways to swap in ZeroPoint foods at breakfast, lunch, dinner, or whenever. That's where you come in. While ZeroPoint foods are not new to WeightWatchers, they'd like to reinvigorate how we talk about them and bring more awareness to this component of the WeightWatchers program. To that end, WeightWatchers wants to create some social-first videos and still images that highlight how ZeroPoint foods make reaching your weight loss goals easier. Specifically, these videos and still images should be designed for distribution on four different social media platforms: Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok.

In terms of execution, WeightWatchers is open to a wide range of creative executions or mediums, like lo-fi live-action lifestyle footage, motion graphics mixed with stock footage, simple stop-motion animation, or something with clever editing techniques and transitions like you'd see on TikTok. If you have a cool way to showcase ZeroPoint foods in a way that's designed for social media, WeightWatchers wants to hear about it. WeightWatchers is looking to greenlight at least TWO different creators, who will each create four unique assets in various formats, and they're hoping for different and unique approaches.

Importantly, these videos should NOT look like ads. Check out these examples of videos and still images about ZeroPoint foods that have been effective for WeightWatchers in the past - but don't let these limit you, since we're trying to do something new here. WeightWatchers is NOT looking for the conventional recipe-focused videos that you see on their organic Instagram or TikTok pages, so stay clear of that.

This is a fast-moving timeline, so for your pitch submission, we are asking that you include at least 1 creative concept per video/still image in your treatment (i.e. so 4 total concepts). With that being said, the more ideas, the better! These concepts should illustrate the creative approach you would plan to execute for each asset. There will not be a pre-production phase for this project, so your creative concepts should be thorough and clearly explain your vision for each unique asset. WeightWatchers will provide greenlit filmmakers with access to the WeightWatchers app and screenshots of app screens, if necessary.

For your sample video, please create one short up-to-:15 video (9x16) that demonstrates the benefits of ZeroPoint foods. If helpful, WeightWatchers also encourages you to submit multiple sample videos as a part of your pitch, which you can upload to the submission form as a video stringout. Your sample video should both tell a story and be designed for social media distribution.
