What’s grosser than gross? Living near a stinky sewage situation? Waking up to that rotten egg smell? Being down-wind from God-knows-what? Or just walking down the street and gagging from that awful sewer smell? Well, thanks to Yara, there’s a solution: Nutriox®.
Nutriox® is a full-service odor control that acts at the source of the problem and automatically injects precise amounts of a blend of nitrates, where and when needed, into sewerage systems or sewage treatment works. Using complex modelling and dosing equipment Nutriox® ensures the optimum injection rate to eliminate odor complaints from the community, and also prevent the risk of employee or public exposure to this highly toxic gas. So come on, Tongal. Let’s make videos that raise awareness about Nutriox®, help our ailing communities breathe freely, and give those aspiring Leslie Knope’s of the world something to fight for!
Here’s some more background on Yara below:
Yara delivers solutions for sustainable agriculture and the environment. Our fertilizers and crop nutrition programs help produce the food required for the growing world population. Our industrial products and solutions reduce emissions, improve air quality and support safe and efficient operations. Founded in Norway in 1905, Yara has a worldwide presence with sales to 150 countries. Safety is always our top priority.
We ensure reliable supplies of mineral fertilizer and related industrial products to customers worldwide. We benefit from our scale advantages, as the world’s largest producer of ammonia, nitrate and complex fertilizer, and with about 20% of global ammonia trade. Our local sales and marketing units provide customer services and agronomical support, working with farmers worldwide to increase yields and improve crop quality and nutritional value.
We utilize our strong production platform and global supply system to create local benefits, providing customers with the combination of quality products and expert knowledge that best matches their needs.
The goal of this project is to create an engaging and informative Call-To-Action Video, up to 60 seconds in length, that targets communities affected by bad smells from sewers or waste water treatment, and empower them to call their local water board to ask about Nutriox®.
The Sponsor is open to live action, animation, stock footage/photography, mixed media… whatever creative way allows you to tell your most engaging story.
Important Note: Your Video should look and feel GLOBAL and universal. Nutriox is predominantly sold in Europe and the United States and is growing around the world from Australia to Dubai and Brazil. Your Video should speak to both major markets, without excluding other geographic regions. Please remember this when considering casting, locations, etc…
--Key Marketing Messages: When you smell that rotten egg smell in your neighborhood, tell your local authorities about Nutriox. It works!
--Target Audience: The Engaged Citizen, The Community.
--Tone: No need to be too serious. Maybe something slightly goofy. Ghostbusters? A Wes Anderson film? Maybe even Rhett & Link?
--Exposure: Intended for use on Yara’s YouTube channel, and in digital and social media.

This Project will be worth a total of $20,000 and consists of 3 Phases: an Idea Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: IDEA – Tell us your Idea for a Nutriox Video in 140 characters or less. Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging. The winning Idea creators will receive $250 each and a 5% one-time residual payment for any winning Videos based on their Idea. (That means if your winning Idea is the basis for the 1st place Video, you will receive $500, the 2nd place Video $250) – see Video Phase Payout details for more information.
PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What Is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:
The TWO most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $2,000 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $5,000, at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $10,000 First Place video prize (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Idea winners). For an example of an effective Pitch, check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 3: VIDEO – The TWO winners from the Pitch Phase will create a Video, up to 60 seconds, based upon their winning Pitches.
The Judges will score the 2 winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners to determine the standings for the Video Phase. Remember, only the 2 Pitch winners will receive prizes.
--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $10,000 and 2nd place $5,000 (less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to the Idea winners, as applicable).
--Music: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Audioblocks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. You may use up to THREE total tracks per Video submission, and they can come from any of the three providers listed above. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.
If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.
--Referral: Any Tongal member who refers one of the winning Video creators in this Project using the Tongal “Invite Friends” functionality will receive a referral fee equal to 5% of the amount won. That’s a potential the sum total of $750 (5% of each Video amount, up to $500 per place) in bonus cash just for telling all of your talented friends about this Project!
