Background

***Note: Please remember we’re looking for follow-ups to great Big Game commercials of the past, NOT spoofs. We want to know where the story picks up after the original spot ends. We don’t need to see different variations on the original commercial.

Also, submitters are encouraged to submit follow-ups to Big Game commercials beyond the ones that are mentioned directly in the brief. We’re looking for a variety of ideas.***

The Big Game has given us some of the most famous, most beautiful and most insane hit advertisements of all time. Well, every hit deserves a high concept follow-up. That’s why Tongal wants to know: what happened next? Did puppy-monkey-baby get exposed to radiation and destroy Tokyo? Did that kid get mistakenly arrested outside the stadium for having Mean Joe Green’s jersey on him?  Did that jogger from the Apple 1984 spot ever reimburse those drones for breaking their giant TV?

I think you get where we’re going with this…

So go for it! Get creative, fun and off-the-wall with your follow-up concepts. Your stories can pick up right where the ads left off or they could be set years in the future, heck, maybe you even want to lob in an origin story.  It’s up to you – as long as it’s funny! You can use this this list for inspiration.

Check out the objectives tab for more details and get ready to tap into your inner "Hollywood Sequel Doctor". This is your chance to get crazy and show us your wild follow-ups to the most iconic videos of all time.

Objectives

The goal of this project is to envision a hilarious 60 second follow-up to one of the Big Game’s most famous commercials. Tell us your Concept for what happens next after the original story is over. It could be seconds after it ends, the next day or centuries after the fact.

--Target Audience: The same as the Big Game – so pretty much everyone.

--Executional Mandatories:

--Tone: Fun and humorous.

--Exposure: Tongal’s YouTube/Facebook channels and other social media platforms.

Details

This Project will be worth a total of $3,000 and consists of an Concept Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: CONCEPT – Tell us your Idea for a 60 second follow-up to a famous Big Game spot in 250 characters or less. Remember, a Concept is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Concepts should be clever and engaging. The winning Idea creators will receive $500 each.
