Do you ever feel guilty for taking care of yourself and making your personal needs a priority?
There’s so much pressure to spend more time with the people who depend on you (at home and at work). And it’s so easy to just give into taking care of others and forget your own needs. When you finally do have that one elusive moment to yourself, it’s often hard to enjoy it and take advantage! But here’s the thing – putting yourself first will actually allow you to care for your loved ones in the best way possible.
Focusing on YOUR health and happiness means having a direct positive impact on how you interact with those around you. When you’re ready to make a lifestyle change, Weight Watchers is there to help reset how you feel, how you think, and how you behave towards health and wellness.
For those of you not familiar with Weight Watchers, it is a weight-loss company founded in the early 1960s by Jean Nidetch in NYC, and has since grown to include millions of people around the world. The Weight Watchers proven program is not a diet, but rather a lifestyle. Your best self isn’t a magical number on the scale. Weight Watchers wants you to see food as fuel for a healthy life, finding ways to move more each day, and developing the skills to unlock your inner strength so you can make healthy choices for life. Yes, you will lose weight, but with Weight Watchers, you’ll also gain a whole new perspective on getting – and staying – healthy!
The goal of this project is to create a 60-90 second positive and anthemic Video that INSPIRES ACTION to prioritize one’s well-being by debunking the myth that putting yourself is a selfish act but rather a necessary one to make the most of life, reach your goals, and care for those you love.
We encourage you to think about ways you do or don’t put yourself first on a daily basis, and what small steps could you take to move in the right direction? Check out this article from Thought Catalogue about why women who put themselves first are happier! For example, only when you’re emotionally stable and love yourself can you really extend that love to someone else. Oprah is a great example of a role model who preaches the importance of honoring yourself and putting yourself first.
A Note to Filmmakers: We highly encourage you to think about ways to include real Weight Watchers members in your Video!

This Project will be worth a total of dollar amount and consists of 5 Phases: an Idea Phase, a Pitch Phase, a Pre-Production Phase, a Video Phase and a Revisions Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: IDEA – Tell us your Idea for objective in 140 characters or less. Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging. The winning Idea creators will receive dollar amount each and a 5% one-time residual payment the winning Video based on their Idea.
PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:
The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $20,250 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $24,000 (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Idea winners).
For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 3: PRE-PRODUCTION – The 1 Pitch Winner from the Pitch Phase will enter the Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). During this phase, filmmakers will need to receive the following Approvals from the brand:
No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.
PHASE 4: VIDEO – Once the Pre-Production Phase is complete, the Pitch Winner will each create a Video based upon their winning Pitch.
WITH CUT-DOWNS:
NOTE: The :60-:90 Video for YouTube and the :60-:90 Video for Facebook are BOTH due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.
