Background

The @TongalTeam Social Crew is an initiative designed to showcase the work of our global creative community, while making cool sh*t for the Tongal Instagram channel. The goal here is to feature content “by creators, for creators,”, so potential Crew members should consider the kind of posts they’d most like to see on the channel - and how their skillset can contribute to the conversation - when pitching.

We are looking for both stand-alone content and recurring content frameworks when pitching. We are completely open to seeing what you can uniquely bring to the table, but here are some references and content formats to get your wheels turning:

Objectives

Are you an internet savvy meme queen or king, illustrator, artist, animator, maker or just a fan of film and media history? Maybe you have some really cool ideas for Instagram Reels, like a "Doodle With Me" drawing series or a Gear Packing Tutorial. Well then you're in luck, because the Tongal Social Crew is looking for you! The goal of this project is to identify at least 3 Tongal community members to join our elite @Tongalteam Social Crew, each of whom will be asked to create engaging, fun, and original social content for Tongal’s Instagram, and expand upon a few continuing content series. We're looking for content that other creators will LOVE, and then share on their own channels.

If you follow Tongal on Instagram (and if not, make sure to!) you've probably noticed the #TongalSocialCrew hashtag on our posts, and you've already enjoyed some of the thoughtful, hilarious, referential and informative content that our Social Crew members have been creating. Now it’s time for another class to rise up and take over the world (or, at least, our Instagram channel).

Ideal Social Crew members will be Instagram-fluent and possess video, animation, photo, and/or design skills, while also bringing their unique talents and personality to the channel. A variety of media interests is also helpful. Jump down to Background for more creative direction. If you've been a member before of the social crew previously, you can still submit!

Your focus will be on creating great content, but Tongal is also committed to promoting the creator behind each post. For this reason, every post you create will be credited back to you, making this a great opportunity to grow your own Instagram following, while still building out a social marketing portfolio.

HOW WILL IT WORK? By joining Tongal’s Social Crew, you’re signing up to create content for Tongal’s Instagram channel on an ongoing basis over the next 4 months (August 2023 through the early December 2023). Selected creators will have direct access to bounce new ideas off our internal team, whether they be for stand-alone posts, series, or Instagram Stories, and we're excited to see where you want to take things. Additionally, Tongal may have an idea for a post or series which we put out to the Crew to see who is willing and able to execute on the idea.

DELIVERABLES: There will be 16 total stand-alone Instagram posts (four per month), adhering to the following formats:
