HELPFUL REFERENCE VIDEOS & PHOTOS FOR INSPIRATION/TONE:
This is some of the recent video and image content created on Tongal, and they're all great examples of the style we're looking for but still showcase how much diversity is possible.
If you've been with us for a while, you know that T-Mobile employees are one-of-a-kind, and they absolutely love talking about T-Mobile on social media, where the company's vibrant and inclusive culture really resonates. They're always ready to showcase the unique experiences, inside jokes, and daily quirks of being part of a team that emphasizes camaraderie, creativity, and above all, FUN!
So the goal of this project is to utilize T-Mobile's brand personality and brand colors to create a batch of 15 different engaging, humorous, and light-hearted memes that capture the spirit of T-Mobile's team culture, and use that to spread Magenta joy across social media platforms. For this batch of content, they're looking for relatable sharable meme content that covers a few themes in particular, like corporate humor, retail/call center life, and modern "device" culture. Think about what a static image meme consists of: typically a simple picture or graphic with an amusing or interesting/insightful caption. What makes it interesting, funny, and shareable? That's for you to put on your comedian cap and figure out! The meme should be simple enough that it doesn't take too long to read, and for humor to really work, the audience has to be able to process it quickly, and you've got to ensure it's relatable to the everyday phone user, or to a typical "corporate" employee.
For quick reference, take a look at some of the previous memes that the T-Mobile employees and social channels have published so far. As you can see they are open to using common meme imagery, but we would like to stay away from any notable or recognizable brands, influencers, or celebrities that would require getting releases or licenses to use. Beyond that, you can get as bold, witty, and clever as you want, so feel free to mix in some original ideas along with trendy templates that might capitalize on other content that people have seen - while keeping the humor work-appropriate. You can utilize stock imagery from Storyblocks, or illustrations, and you can even throw on a wig and feature yourself in the meme if you'd like, like you'll see in some of the examples we have shared in the Background. Keep in mind that we want to avoid taking any jabs at competitors or insulting customers in any way. Think more about how to utilize the imagery of general technology or the workplace similar to the graphics that have been used in their previous examples and find a way to make it relatable and fun!
For your pitch, we highly encourage that you submit a proof of concept / first draft of an image or multiple images along with your Treatment. We also recommend including a quick explanation of why the meme would work for social media sharing, captioning, or text overlays in your treatment. Please ensure that if you include any samples, they align with T-Mobile's brand and messaging standards.
