For over 35 years, Southeastern Guide Dogs has been breeding, raising, training, and caring for puppies that become life-changing guide dogs, service dogs and companion dogs for people with visual impairments, veterans with disabilities, and children with significant challenges such as vision loss or loss of a parent in the military. Southeastern Guide Dogs matches all of their recipients with their dogs free of charge. They rely 100% on private donations and receive no government funding.
Of course, raising furry superheroes doesn’t happen on its own: in addition to the many facilities Southeastern Guide Dogs has built to house, nurture, and educate their puppies, there’s also the on-site veterinarians, training experts, and lots and lots of dog food to consider. But for as little as $4 a week, viewers can sponsor a life-changing puppy. And that’s pretty cool.
So Southeastern Guide Dogs is turning to the Tongal community for a 90-second live-action script that showcases their life-changing puppies and real-life clients. By showing the positive impact these extraordinary dogs have for people with visual impairments, veterans, and children, your script will encourage viewers to sponsor a puppy that will one day change a life.
While the Sponsor loved your scripts, they felt that they could provide more specific direction to help guide your submissions. We have re-opened this project with updated information in the Objectives section.
**THE SPONSOR HAS UPDATED THE ASK AND MADE IT MORE TARGETED AND SPECIFIC.
PLEASE SEE ADDED INFO IN RED BELOW**
The goal of this project is to write a live-action script that encourages viewers to participate in Southeastern Guide Dogs’ monthly sponsor-a-puppy program by showing how Southeastern’s extraordinary guide dogs make a difference for the people they serve. Your script should be optimistic and joyful and should integrate puppies in a compelling way.
The focus should be around real-life Southeastern Guide Dogs recipients with visual impairment, veterans with disabilities and for children with significant challenges such as vision loss.
Your script should include a general sense of direction for the 90-second spot, on-screen text or VO copy, and possible talking points or sample dialogue where any sound bytes from real-life Southeastern Guide Dogs’ recipients would come in. In other words, you don’t have to put words in anyone’s mouth.
Your script should include these three key components:
SEGD would like your script to be closely inspired by this Guide Dogs UK video (with whom SEGD is working closely to establish their Puppy Sponsorship program):

They love that this video speaks directly to the audience (ie, "who knew that you would change my life") through speaking to the dog; this appeals directly to potential donors.
This video also captures relatable scenarios like becoming a mom, joining a team, etc.
We'd like your scripts to take story inspiration from this video, with copy that ties more closely to SEGD's particular mission and point of view.
