Background

Location, location, location: we’re told that that’s all that matters in real estate, but there’s actually so much more to closing a sale…namely: speed, reliability, and efficiency. That’s what Quicken Loans promises to real estate agents who direct their clients to use Quicken Loans as their lenders.

Seems simple, right? Unfortunately, there’s a perception that Quicken Loans is a large, faceless, online lender that prioritizes quick turnaround at the expense of personal connections or providing great service to home buyers. But as realtors who work with Quicken Loans will tell you, that’s simply not true. Quicken Loans provides real estate agents with the tools they need to get their clients’ loans approved quickly, from Pre-Approval Letters to proprietary communications technology that enables agents to close on time with confidence and ease.

This all boils down to a simple message aimed at real estate agents: Know us, Like us, Trust us. Quicken Loans wants to spread this message and help more real estate agents close on time, but they know the best advocates for their services are actual real estate agents with first-hand experience. And that’s where you come in: by profiling 1–6 real estate agents who drive their buyers to Quicken Loans to help them close quickly, reliably, and with ease, every time.

Read on to the Project Objectives for more information.

Objectives

The goal of this project is to drive more real estate agents to recommend Quicken Loans to their clients by creating a total of 6 Videos, 1–2 minutes each, profiling real-life real estate agents who love working with Quicken Loans.  Each hero video will include a :15 cutdown and 5 stills.

Quicken Loans provides the trust, communication, and on-time loan closing that real estate agents value. They do this by putting real estate agents at the center of the process with personal communication, 24/7 accessibility via their Online Agent Platform’s convenient and simple technology, and by being experts at every step in the mortgage process. In addition, Quicken Loans is the highest ranked mortgage lender by JD Powers & Associates for 8 years in a row and is licensed in all 50 states.

FILMMAKERS, please read the following information carefully:

Each Video should focus on one real estate agent or industry expert. Quicken Loans will provide the real estate agents and an industry expert to be featured in your videos as well as some interview questions to help guide you. You can view these in the Assets tab.

You are encouraged to Pitch against more than one real estate agent. You should submit separate Pitches for each subject you wish to film, but call out in your Pitch if you intend to create a suite across multiple agents/videos.

Each Pitch Winner will be responsible for all costs associated with traveling to their subjects’ locations, e.g. airfare and lodging.

SUBJECT LOCATIONS:

  1. Dearborn, MI
  2. Miami, FL
  3. Las Vegas, NV
  4. Pocono Mountains, PA
  5. Atlanta, GA
  6. Washington, D.C.

More information on the subjects can be found as a PDF in the Assets tab.

PRE-PRODUCTION NOTE: This project includes a Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). This means you will be required to submit certain items for Approval before moving onto the Video Phase. The Approval items for this project are:

IMPORTANT: No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.

If you’re selected as a Pitch Winner, a Tongal producer will email you to help walk you through the Pre-Production and Approvals process.

The 1-2 minute-long hero videos, :15 cutdowns (one per video), and 5 stills per video are all due at the close of the Video Phase.  Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.

Your :15 cutdowns will primarily be used for marketing and outreach on Facebook; please take these best practices into account:

--Key Marketing Messages:

--Target Audience:

--Executional Mandatories:

--Tone: Authentic, informative, contemporary, active, fresh; no slow-motion.

Details

This Project will be worth a total of $90,000 and consists of 4 Phases: a Pitch Phase, a Pre-Production Phase, a Video Phase and a Revisions Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:

The 6 most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $8,000 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $7,000. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 2: PRE-PRODUCTION – The Pitch Winners from the Pitch Phase will enter the Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). During this phase, filmmakers will need to receive the following Approvals from the brand:

No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.

PHASE 3: VIDEO – Once the Pre-Production Phase is complete, the Pitch Winners will each create a 1-2 minute Video based upon their winning Pitch.

NOTE: The 1-2 minute Video, :15 cutdown, and 5 stills are all due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.

After revisions are completed (see the Revisions Phase details for more information), the Judges will score the winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners to determine the standings for the Video Phase. Remember, the Pitch winners will receive prizes.

--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn $7,000 each.

--Music: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Jingle Punks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.

"Tongal members interested in a more customized music solution for your project are invited to connect with our partner Score a Score. Email a brief description of your project (timing, creative, budget, etc.), along with any specific music direction and/or references to their creative team at music@scoreascore.com and include “Tongal Project - Your Name” in the subject line.  Their creative team will be in touch within a few minutes to discuss the simple process and options with you!"

If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.

--Referral: Any Tongal member who refers one of the winning Video creators in this Project using the Tongal “Invite Friends” functionality will receive a referral. That’s a potential $500 in bonus cash just for telling all of your talented friends about this Project! Check out more about our Referral Program in FAQ.

PHASE 4: REVISIONS – Once the Video Phase has closed, the winning submitters will enter the Revisions Phase (What is a Revisions Phase?). During this phase, filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their Videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback. Once the Videos are finalized, the Sponsor will rank the Videos and winners will be announced.
