Got a few minutes and a great mic? We're running an experimental "Quick Hit" project here to source voiceover audio for an :30 ASMR video we're delivering for this SYFY / TZGZ project. No need to read about the project though, it's not important. All we need is a voiceover artist with high quality recording equipment who can do a creepy female ASMR-style read on this script. 

The  script takes the POV of a viewer looking up at a doctor that *seems* human but - set against an otherworldly background - we slowly discover that the doctor is an alien, lulling the viewer to sleep with its soothing tone before dissecting them alive. The tone is obviously off-kilter and creepy, but it's a little playful, and because it's ASMR, it's oddly relaxing. 

If this sounds interesting to you (or someone you know), submit a :30 script read. If you're selected, the script is locked, but we may ask for a re-record just to get the timing right against animation. Also, if you're not familiar with ASMR, search ASMR doctor on YouTube for some good comps.

 

DELIVERABLES: One :30 VO recording of the provided script, delivered as .WAV and .MP3

 

EXPOSURE: Videos will air on SYFY during TZGZ programming, and also be posted on SYFY.com, as well on SYFY’s digital and social platforms.

 

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES: 

• Most ASMR uses omnidirectional / binaural mics with exceptional clarity & purity of sound, with low self-noise (the natural hum or hiss of the mic). You should use a mic with a signal/noise ratio of 80dB or above.
• Feel free to record more than one take, and leave some silence between the dialogue so it's easy to edit.
• No background audio, music, or SFX should be audible. 
• ASMR is heavy on soft sibilant sound - stress the "S's" and the hard consonants at the end of a word, like the T in "cut."
• Yes, ASMR is whispered, but this is for TV too, so keep your actual voice recording clearly audible. 

In order to be considered for this project, you must record the :30 script in ASMR style and submit your recording as an .wav or .mp3.

1. Preferred format for upload to the Tongal website is HD audio in .wav or .mp3 format.
   
   
2. Unless provided otherwise, all work must be your own original creation and free of any copyrighted material. You shall provide detailed information of your work regarding the source, the creator and background information as requested by Tongal.
   
   
3. BY SUBMITTING AN AUDIO ENTRY, YOUR SUBMISSION IMMEDIATELY BECOMES THE SOLE PROPERTY OF TONGAL OR ITS ASSIGNEES – SEE OFFICIAL RULES FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES. YOU MAY NOT PUBLICLY SHARE OR PUBLISH YOUR SUBMISSION IN ANY MANNER AND YOU MAY NOT POST OR UPLOAD YOUR SUBMISSION TO ANY WEBSITE OR VIDEO HOSTING SITE (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE OR VIMEO), WITHOUT THE PRIOR EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT OF TONGAL. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR ENTRY IN THE PROJECT.
   
   
4. Submissions cannot contain any profanity, offensive language, nudity or otherwise objectionable material, the determination of which is solely at the discretion of Sponsor.
   
   
5. Submissions must not portray Sponsor in a negative way, the determination of which will solely reside with Sponsor.
    
6. By submitting to this project, you acknowledge that your work may become subject to public voting on the Tongal site. Public voting may be used to help the project sponsor determine the final rank order.
    
7. Videos must be in the English language or subtitled.
    
8. Limit 5 submissions per member, per Phase.
    
9. You must be at least thirteen (13) years or older to enter.
   
   
10. The Sponsor reserves the right to repost the contest.
    
    
11. In addition to the judging criteria stated in the OFFICIAL RULES, Pitches will also be evaluated on that member's ability to execute the final Video based on their prior work and experience as a filmmaker.
    
    
12. The Sponsor will be entitled to reasonable revisions on the finished Recordings without providing additional compensation.
    
    
13. In addition to the standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment, greenlit VO artists MUST also provide a Talent Release.
