Are you a stylist or costume designer with a penchant for period-specific work? Do you love LEGO and the idea of creating new minifig characters to be used in an upcoming full length animation? Then this is the project for you!
We're looking for someone who can research period and location-specific fashions over the last 50 years to create references for a large number of background character looks. You will then be paired up with a 3D artist who will take your references and bring the looks to life as 3D LEGO minifig models.
Upon selection and signing an NDA, what you will do is research the date and location provided to you and then establish the demographics, lifestyle, and fashions for that particular time and place, ultimately consolidating all of that information into a single PDF that can be used as a reference for yourself and the 3D artist. From there, you will piece together wardrobe "looks" for individual characters based on your research. Your "looks" can be drawn, designed, or even collaged! As long as the 3D artist can use what you provide as a clear template for creating the design of LEGO minifigs.
This project will start with 40 fashion references or "looks" as a pilot, but that represents only a fraction of the work necessary. This means that continued work and additional budget is possible upon completion.
For your pitch, please submit a sample of fashion style references, or looks, for someone in the 1980's from Compton, CA.
