Background

It used to be that if you wanted really good pizza you had to be a lucky denizen of the Pizza Belt.  For years, the constituents of this tasty region have turned their noses up at slices of pie found outside their borders.

Well it’s time for Marco’s Pizza to do a little gerrymandering. Marco’s started in Ohio and now has over 500 stores in 35 states. It’s one of the fastest growing pizza franchises in the country and for good reason. Marco’s dough is made fresh daily and they use a delectable blend of fresh cheeses (unlike the frozen offerings from some chains that will not be named).  Their sauce is made from tomatoes grown especially for Marco’s, they use only the freshest vegetables and premium meats for their toppings.

If you think that sounds delicious, wait until you pair it was an ice cold glass of Pepsi. It's the perfect combination and that’s why Pepsi wants you to make a funny family-friendly Video to help spread awareness about Marco's Pizza. This project is going to move fast (less than two weeks to make a video) so click over to the objectives tab quick!

Objectives

The goal of this project is to create a funny and entertaining 15-second Video for Marco’s Pizza. The spot should feature Marco’s branding with light Pepsi branding and focus on the great taste of Marco’s (fresh dough, proprietary sauce, a blend of fresh cheeses, fresh vegetables, and premium meats). There is no idea phase for this project so make sure your concept comes through clearly in your Pitch.

Important Note: The Pitch Winner will need to feature Marco’s Pizza in their video so make sure that you have access to a Marco’s Pizza location as no product shots or bumper video will be provided. Also make sure that the food and beverages in your video look great and ready to eat.

Bumper Note: You will be required to create an end card for your Video.  Be sure to include the length of your end card within the 15-second runtime.

--Key Marketing Messages:

--Target Audience: Families (bulls-eye target:  parents ages 25-35 with younger kids) who love pizza.

Note: While your Video must feature both Pepsi and Marco’s Pizza, the main focus should be on Marco’s Pizza. Pepsi should appear in your Video but it doesn’t need to be featured prominently.

--Tone: Fun, playful and engaging. Nothing too goofy or cartoonish.

--Exposure: For internal use as well as possible distribution on online social channels.
