Background

You might know Palmolive from their dish soaps, but over in Europe, Palmolive is a trusted company offering a whole line of household goods, including body wash infused with natural ingredients. That’s where you come in – we’re asking you to come up with some brilliant Campaign Ideas to present the naturally infused Palmolive body wash line to the European market.

Most of us have experience using body wash in our daily lives. Body wash is more than just a way to stay clean, it invigorates our mornings, revitalizes our bodies after a long day, and keeps our skin smooth and beautiful for those nights out. Body wash is part of our hygiene rituals, but also an indulgent way to treat ourselves.

Palmolive combines natural extracts you know like honey or olives and milk for a velvety shower experience that is sensible for your body and for your budget. Check out Palmolive Naturals Body Wash here for some moisturizing inspiration.

Because Palmolive plays in an international market, your Campaign Idea should be a visual one that portrays an experience that is easily translatable between cultures. Palmolive is aware that body wash isn’t going to radically change any lives, so they’re looking to treat the viewer with respect and not promise the sun and the moon. Instead, express why choosing Palmolive is the right choice for any family household.

What is a Campaign Idea?

Campaign Ideas are the foundation for a brand’s marketing and articulate the inspirational anchor of the brand. They connect a consumer insight or universal truth to the brand’s identity. A Campaign Idea should create enough space for numerous creative executions to develop and thrive, and push the brand’s boundaries -- without breaking them. It is the vehicle by which the brand delivers its message across all consumer touch-points.

At its most fundamental, a Campaign Idea should be:

1.     Original: First and foremost, your idea must be original. Be careful not to subconsciously take another Campaign Idea and stick a new brand’s name on it.

2.     Creative: This one is tougher to define, but a Campaign Idea has to be more than a flat statement or demonstration of product capabilities. Yes, there will be an aspect of these, but typically, that something more is a story or narrative frame.

3.     Repeatable: A Campaign Idea has to be big enough to hold or suggest more than one execution, be it video, print ad, Tweet or Facebook post -- such that you can see the relation or relevance from one to the next.
