Benjamin Moore is known for producing the highest quality paints and finishes in the industry.  What you may not know is that only Benjamin Moore independent retailers carry Benjamin Moore paints, stains, and applicators. This means that you won’t find their products in the orange and blue big-box stores…ever.

 

Why is Benjamin Moore paint only sold through a specific network of retailers? Because it means individualized, unrushed attention and service, expert counsel on product selection, expert project advice, consistent inventory, and, of course, authentic Benjamin Moore colors, which can’t be matched by competitors.

In line with that philosophy, Benjamin Moore is looking for some out of the box creativity on this project. 

 

Embracing their independent spirit, Benjamin Moore has decided to give you full creative control over the video you create. It can be straight live action narrative, sketch comedy, quirky video art, stop-motion animation, music video…anything you want. The only requirement is that you use or show Benjamin Moore Paint somewhere at some point in the video and somehow incorporate "Benjamin Moore Paints, found outside the box since 1883."  

--Note: The best submissions will express an independent sense of creativity, showcase the product or brand in a clever way and deliver Benjamin Moore’s “Not in a Big Box” philosophy.

This project will be worth a total of $10,000 and consist of two phases so there’s a place for all of you to contribute, regardless of your skill set.

PHASE 1: VIDEO – Create a video featuring Benjamin Moore Paint. This is not a commercial, but an opportunity to push the limits of your creativity and produce something both interesting and unique. As always, creativity and originality are king so make it interesting and have some fun with it. Tongal has partnered with Audiosocket, a boutique music licensing agency representing more than 1,400 emerging bands, composers and record labels. Audiosocket tracks will be available to Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Tongal members' submissions to the Outside The Box Project. Tongal members are encouraged to browse the Audiosocket catalog, available at http://audiosocket.com/. If  you are interested in using a track from the Audiosocket catalog, as described above, please email music@tongal.com for account and password info which will allow for the download of up to 3 tracks.

 

PHASE 2: EXHIBITION – Using the five winning Videos from the previous phase, try to generate as many views of the videos as possible within a period of thirty (30) days. This Phase is OPEN TO EVERY REGISTERED MEMBER ON TONGAL. This means that even if you did not create a video, you may participate in this phase. Here’s how it works:

1. Share the five winning videos using the Tongal Video Player or Share To YouTube functionality anywhere on the web.

2. Every video you share has a special code embedded within it that is unique to each Tongal member.

3. Every time someone watches a video that you shared, we will be able to track that view using your unique code and you will be rewarded one point

4. The first three (3) members who achieve 50,000 views, will receive a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad.

 

1. Preferred format is HD 720p 16x9.  Acceptable file formats are .mov, .avi, .mp4, .wmv.  Acceptable codecs are H.264 (MP4), MPEG-4, H.263, MPGV, WMV, DivX.

 

2. All work must be your own and free of any copyrighted material.

 

3. Submissions must state or present the phrase "Benjamin Moore Paints, found outside the box since 1883" at least once in the video.

 

4. Submissions cannot contain any profanity, offensive language, nudity or otherwise objectionable material, the determination of which is solely at the discretion of Benjamin Moore.

 

5. Submissions must not portray Benjamin Moore in a negative way, the determination of which will solely reside with Benjamin Moore.

 

6. Submissions must be in the English language or subtitled.

 

7. Limit 5 submission(s) per member, per phase.

 

8. You must be at least thirteen (13) years or older to enter.

 

10. Minimum twenty (20) Videos or the contest will repost for seven (7) days.

12. Any use of an Audiosocket track obtained through Tongal in connection with the Outside The Box Project that is outside of such Tongal member's submission to such project is strictly prohibited.
