Objectives

***PLEASE NOTE that this project has a condensed timeline so please take that into consideration before you Pitch.***

The goal of this project is to create one (1) 30-second video and two (2) 15-second cut downs that communicate in an engaging and authentic way that Oral-B power brushes deliver a clinically proven, superior clean vs. Sonicare. The reason for this superior clean is the rounded head inspired by dentist’s tools that cup your teeth, break up plaque and rotate to sweep it away. These videos are for digital pre-roll so they must be grab viewers attention within the first 5 seconds.

As noted in the Background all Ideas and videos must feature only one principal actor and voiceover artist.  Feel free to take inspiration from their current TV spot but since this is for digital they are open to different takes on the current format. Tonally, they want to keep it authentic and stay away from anything that is too gimmicky or contrived.

The cut-downs should be two variations of the 30-second video with focus on different product attributes (e.g. superior technology vs. customer experience care habits/desired benefits).

Pitch winners will be required to get final brand approval on the three (3) scripts (30-second and the two 15-second) along with casting approval for both the on-camera talent and the voiceover artist. This project also has two (2) sets of revisions built in.

PLEASE NOTE that the final spots will include some form of the animated product demos in the current spot.  The demos currently run a total of 13 seconds, however you will have some leeway to edit and conform to 30-second and 15-second spots.  Your voiceover artist will need to provide the voice for the product demos; you can’t use the existing voice.

PHASE 1: IDEA  – Tell us your Idea for a digital video to convince audiences to switch to Oral-B power electric toothbrush in 140 characters or less.  Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?)is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video.  As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging.  The winning Idea creators will receive $250 each and a 5% one-time residual payment for any winning Video based on their Idea. (That means if your winning Idea is the basis for the 1st place Video, you will receive $737.50) – see Video Phase Payout details for more information.

The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $14,750 to help create the Video.  Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $14,750 (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Idea winners). For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

NOTE: The 30-second video and two (2) 15-second cut-downs are all due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.

--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $14,750 (less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to the Idea winner, as applicable).
