Background

***Fairfield has decided to tweak the direction of the brief and videos a little bit. Rather than simple tips and tricks, Fairfield would like the videos to be in a Do/Don’t format.***

Each 15-30 second video should follow this format:

  1. Task/Challenge
  2. DON’T do this (represented by a red X)
  3. DO this (represented by a green checkmark)
  4. End bumper tying back to Fairfield and StayAmazing campaign.

Fairfield would also like to see pitch submissions that emphasize a more graphical/visual take on the videos. PLEASE DO NOT USE ACTORS OR NARRATORS IN YOUR VIDEOS. Animation and stop motion and text are great, live action is ok if there are no people in your video. Please do not include people’s hands in your video either.

For a great example, check out this video from Honey Maid Holiday Recipes Video Project.

The brand has chosen ten winning Ideas and reformatted them to fit the new Do/Don’t direction. Consequently, the original submissions have been made private to avoid confusing or influencing pitch submitters. Please refer to the Ideas below when referencing your pitch:

Well Being Hacks

Work Smarter Hacks

Life Hacks

Travel Pro

Pitch submitters - You will pitching to produce five videos: either the Travel Pro and Well Being Hacks or the Work Smarter and Life Hacks. Please tell us which you're pitching on in your submission. Remember: you can submit multiple pitches if you'd like to submit for both groups.

Fairfield Inn & Suites' no-nonsense travelers want to maintain momentum and stay balanced. They often find business travel to be draining, and tend to trust a reliable brand name hotel that give them peace of mind so they can stay productive and balanced. These guests value staying on track, mentally and physically. Upbeat and practical, they’re committed to maintaining a routine while on the road. Whether it’s unhealthy airport food, limited time  to exercise and having to get work done on your smart phone while in transit, keeping up with their routine and maintaining a rhythm while travelling is very challenging.

Although FIS offers solutions at their hotel* it’s not just travel that can keep our guests off their routine --  it’s long days at the office, or all day back-to-back meetings that interrupt them from achieving  health, productivity and work/life balance goals. What creative hacks are out there to help keep the momentum --  no matter the obstacle?

How has Fairfield helped their audience maintain momentum in the past? They created a Stay Amazing videos series with Kacy Catanzaro with how-to’s to stay healthy and balance work/life while on the road. They are now looking to expand on this with fun, snackable videos/tips that help the audience maintain routine in a new, unique way. The brand is looking to be challenged and come up with video content they haven’t created in the past. Check the Objectives tab to find out more.

Objectives

The goal of this project is to create a series of five 15-30 second videos, (each with an accompanying gif and static image) showcasing tips and tricks to maintain routine while travelling or in daily life. Videos should fall into one of four categories: Life Hacks (work/life balance), Well Being (health and fitness), Travel Pro (travel hacks/tips) and Work Smarter (productivity tips).

Note to Idea Submitters: Your Ideas for tips and tricks should fall into one of the following four categories:

Note to Pitch Submitters: Two Pitch Winners will be awarded and each will create FIVE 15-30 second Videos, 5 gifs and 5 static images based on the winning Ideas. At the beginning of the Pitch Phase, the ten winning Ideas will be split into two groups: Group A and Group B. The brief will be updated with the listing for each group. Pitch submitters will be invited to pitch on either Group A or B in order to communicate that group of Ideas into five Videos. You’re welcome to submit a pitch for each group if you like.

Details

This Project will be worth a total of $37,500 and consists of three Phases: an Idea Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: IDEA  – Tell us your Idea for a Video to help users Never Skip a Beat while travelling in 140 characters or less.  Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video.  As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging.  The winning Idea creators will receive $250 each.

PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:

The two most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $5,000 to help create the Video.  Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $10,000, at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $15,000 First Place video prize. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 3: VIDEO – The two winners from the Pitch Phase will each create a 15-30 second Video based upon their winning Pitch.

The Judges will score the ten winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners to determine the standings for the Video Phase.  Remember, the two Pitch winners will receive prizes.

--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $15,000 and 2nd place $10,000.

--Music:  Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Audioblocks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.

Tongal members interested in a custom music solution for your project are invited to connect with SCORE A SCORE.  They specialize in the creation of custom music, on-demand.

Their business model is based on a "name your price" system, so you can tell them what your budget is, and they will work with you to create a deal configuration that will work within the discussed parameters. Check out the FAQ for more information and how to contact SCORE A SCORE.

If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.
