Background

** Project Update: Please base your Pitches off of one of these two Concepts **

Concept 1

More and more parents realize that kids could be more efficient in learning and dealing with problems when they stay focused on something. Having better focus could impact their entire life. With this said, if a battery is not durable, it could lead to toys losing power or stopping mid-play, causing kids to lose interest and become easily distracted. This makes it difficult to cultivate children’s focus and concentration. Nanfu battery with Power Ring, lasts much longer and provides sustained power for toys, helping kid learn better by staying focused.

Example: A little girl/boy (under 7) plays toys with sound or light. Show how toys with durable batteries (Nanfu) could help her/him be more focused instead of being distracted/frustrated.

Concept 2
Playing together with toys is important for parents to build an emotional relationship with their kids. Good batteries provide non-stop energy for toys, which makes playtime better, kids happier, and deepens kids’ relationships with their parents (showing their love back in unique and touching ways). Nanfu battery with Power Ring, lasts much longer and provides sustained power for toys, strengthening the relationship between parents and children.

Example: A father loves to play with his child, even when he’s tired after a long day at work he tries his hardest to make time to play. The child has many toys that use Nanfu batteries & the father will get down on the floor with his child to play with them all. We see them play after work several times, sharing happy & loving moments. One day the father is just too tired after work & lays down, exhausted. The child approaches him with a Nanfu battery to give him energy. He smiles & they play together.

Batteries power more than just your remote. They’re the silent heroes that help charge your day from your alarm clock in the morning to your wireless mouse and keyboard at work to your digital camera that captures your family moments at night.

Fujian Nanping Nanfu Battery is the leading battery manufacturer in China creating batteries that are reliable, trustworthy and long-lasting. Working with Tongal, Nanfu Battery is looking to create two emotional and engaging 30-second TV commercials (each with a 15-second cut-down and a longer digital cut) for their alkaline batteries. Please read below for more information:

Objectives

The goal of this project is to create an emotional and engaging 30-second TV commercial with a 15-second cut down and a longer version for digital for Nanfu Battery.

This project also involves a Digital Cut consisting of a longer version of the 30-second video (up to 90-seconds) to be used on digital and a Social Pack consisting of FIVE (5) still images per video.

PRE-PRODUCTION NOTE: This project includes a pre-production phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). This means you will be required to submit certain items for approval before moving onto the video phase. The approval items for this project are:

SCRIPT  – This project requires script approval before filmmakers move onto the video phase. The brand may provide feedback on your script and ask you to submit a new version. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until a script is approved by the brand.

HEADSHOT  – This project requires headshot approval before filmmakers move onto the video phase. You must submit at least two actor options per role. If the brand does not approve either of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new actor options.

STORYBOARD - This project requires storyboard approval before filmmakers move onto the video phase. The brand may provide feedback on your storyboard and ask you to submit a new version of the storyboard.

WARDROBE - This project requires wardrobe approval before filmmakers move onto the video phase. You will need to submit descriptions and/or pictures of your cast’s wardrobe. You must submit at least two wardrobe options per role. If the brand does not approve either of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new wardrobe options.

IMPORTANT: No filmmakers may begin shooting their video until all approvals are completed and the video phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your video during the pre-production phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.

If you’re selected as a pitch winner, a Tongal producer will email you to help walk you through the pre-production and approvals process.

NOTE: The 30-second video, 15-second cut-down, digital cut, and social pack are all due at the close of the video phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your videos.

--Key Marketing Messages:

--Target Audience:

The target audience is mainly parents of kids up to 14 years old who are heavy battery users (both carbon and alkaline), especially young mothers who purchase carbon batteries for their kids’ toys.

Even though 1 alkaline cell lasts longer than 6 carbon batteries, the moms still purchase carbon batteries for their kids because carbon batteries are cheaper and because they don’t think their kids feel loyalty towards their toys and they don’t want their kids to play with toys for too long.

Please take a look at the Family Chart for additional information.

--Executional Mandatories:

--Tone: Emotional, trustworthy, reliable, steady

--Exposure: Nanfu digital channels and TV
