PLAYLISTS THAT NEED THUMBNAILS: The templates below are broken down by section and playlist on their YouTube homepage.

HELPFUL REFERENCES INSPIRATION/TONE:

Objectives

As T-Mobile continues to dive into exciting tech talks and unravel the mysteries of connectivity, they want thumbnails that captivate, educate, and, of course, scream T-Mobile, and that's why the T-Mobile team is looking for a talented illustrator or graphic designer to create thumbnails and thumbnail templates that are not only visually appealing but that also deliver a hint of the magenta flair that makes T-Mobile so unique. Your design will play a crucial role in making all of these topics irresistible to the YouTube audience.

The goal of this project is to create 3 new and shiny thumbnail templates for each of the 19 current playlists on T-Mobile's YouTube channel, plus we will need 1 additional end card template to drive viewers to other T-Mobile videos- that's 58 total. We need each of the 3 thumbnails to be in 16x9 format for YouTube, but should differ slightly in style to provide T-Mobile options, a good example of this would be Screen Time w/ Kane Brown + Khalid. The end card template should not be overly complicated, or too basic, it's about finding just the right balance to promote other T-Mobile videos and the overall channel. As an example, these endcards have the right info and setup, but could use a little more depth and excitement. While some people do include light animation on endcards, it is not a requirement. We're including a full list the playlists that need new thumbnails in the Background. The list may look overwhelming, but keep in mind that you don't need to make the actual final thumbnail for each of the existing videos - instead, you'll just need to design and then provide the Photoshop files for all of the respective templates.

T-Mobile is focusing on refreshing their YouTube page with new videos, playlists, and an updated look as we move into the new year. The current thumbnails differ too much from one episode to the next and don't work well from one playlist to the next which makes the YouTube page seem less aesthetic than we would like. All the thumbnails should have a common-ish look so that the entire YouTube channel feels cohesive, but each series or playlist should still have a distinctive look. In other words, the thumbnails should look more like sisters instead of twins… or maybe cousins? T-Mobile can share titles and some basic information about each playlist, but the overall aesthetic is up to you. We'd obviously encourage you to take a look at some of the videos that you're creating templates for, as that can certainly help inform the design in some cases.

Keep in mind that the graphics you incorporate should be able to work with the backgrounds or the static image that will change in each video, so don't feel the need to fill the entire screen with text and imagery. T-Mobile is also proud of its magenta color and its un-carrier culture, so think of ways to creatively bring in T-Mobile branding in tactful ways  - colors, logo iconography, etc. Though, these shouldn't be just filled with the iconic T-Mobile Magenta hue, feel free to play and incorporate T-Mobile's branding elements like their iconic logo and TeleNeo font for an extra dash of T-Mobile style. If you're struggling for inspiration, we have some example thumbnails in the Background that the T-Mobile team has used and liked so far, which you can view here.

For your pitch submission, you need to include a sample design that illustrates how you envision at least one of the playlist thumbnails. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.
