Background

For 60 years, WeightWatchers has helped millions of people lose weight. Over that time, they've innovated and improved their program based on the latest in nutritional and behavioral science. The WeightWatchers app has been updated, and the program has evolved to fit the needs of members. But, at the end of the day, WeightWatchers has always been a sustainable, flexible path to weight loss rooted in the power of community. No cutting out food groups, no extreme dieting, no one-size fits all approach.

KEY MESSAGES ABOUT THE EFFICACY OF THE WEIGHTWATCHERS PROGRAM:

Objectives

WeightWatchers was made by people who love food, for people who love food - because loving food and wanting to lose weight should never be mutually exclusive. On WeightWatchers, you can enjoy all the foods you love and still lose weight, because no food is off limits. The program teaches you how to build healthy habits so you can lose weight in a sustainable way - without sacrificing all the things you love.

To that end, WeightWatchers is looking for THREE different creators who can EACH make two unique TikTok videos that lean into the trends of the platform, while also demonstrating that WeightWatchers is all about the enjoyment of eating - and losing weight. The goal of these videos is to represent a happy & upbeat lifestyle that comes along with having a rewarding relationship with food. In addition to these two main videos, WeightWatchers is also looking to make alternate versions of each video with small changes (e.g. one version with voiceover and one with text-to-speech, or one version with branding in the first three seconds and one without) so they can test the both versions and see which ones perform better. WeightWatchers will work with the greenlit creators in pre-production to figure out the best approach for the alternate versions.

Your videos should feel native to the TikTok platform and lean into the trends and styles that would organically come across your "For You" page. Due to TikTok's weight loss ad policy, you CANNOT mention the exact number of pounds someone has lost, so you should consider leaning into visual storytelling to emphasize the efficacy and success of the program as results you can see. Check out WeightWatchers' top performing TikToks from the past few months to get a sense how you can speak to the livability of the WeightWatchers program without calling out an exact number of pounds lost. WeightWatchers is open to having the greenlit filmmakers be the featured "talent" in the videos - they would just request that you join the WeightWatchers program first. WeightWatchers will provide you with a free membership code if you want to go this route!

Here are some thought starters for different TikTok trends that you can explore:

You should NOT feel constrained to these thought starters. If you have other video ideas that feel native to TikTok that aren't on this list, WeightWatchers still wants to hear about it!

Your pitch treatment should provide at least THREE unique TikTok video concepts, and WeightWatchers will work with the greenlit filmmakers to decide which two concepts will move into production. Feel free to include links to any existing TikTok videos (they don't have to be your own) that represent the style you'd be aiming for. Make sure to check out WeightWatchers' official TikTok account to get a sense of the brand's tone of voice and the type of content they typically post.

For your sample video, please create one short :15-:30 TikTok video. Your sample video should be created in a 9x16 aspect ratio and speak to the message "Weight Loss for Food Lovers." If helpful, WeightWatchers also encourages you to submit multiple sample videos as a part of your pitch, which you can upload to the submission form as a video stringout. You can even create your sample video in the TikTok app itself! The goal is to make your video as native to TikTok as possible.

DELIVERABLES: Each greenlit creator will create four total video assets:

By participating in this open bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Though most projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

Shooting live action or stop motion? Our priority is ensuring everyone's safety, so please review our COVID-19 Production Safety Guide and check federal, state, and local rules before and during your shoot to make sure your on-set protocols are up to date. We're working hard to keep people working during this extraordinary time, and you should ensure your submission is executable within the anticipated timeline and budget, while also ensuring everyone's safety.
