We’re all familiar with how “Choose Your Own Adventure” books work. They all follow the same template of intriguing choices: Veer right to the lake? Or go left to the cabin? Ditch school for the concert? Or be the good-kid and stay home and hit the books?
Well, if you’ve always loved those tales -- and who doesn’t? -- Interlude’s Treehouse tool is like a “Choose Your Own Adventure” on rocket fuel.
Treehouse surpasses the simple book-bound decision trees we’re familiar with, and instead, lets you create a totally new experience for the viewer. You may already know about Interlude: they’re the company that brought you the epic new Bob Dylan “Like A Rolling Stone” Video, as well as amazing interactive videos for Pepsi, and Madewell.
The possibilities are endless and no two experiences are the same. With the power of Treehouse in your hands, YOU make the choices and YOU create the story.
And this is why Interlude and Treehouse are a PERFECT FIT for Lenovo’s YOGA line of laptops and tablets. Adaptive, individual, forward-looking: it’s truly a match made in heaven. Lenovo wants you to use Treehouse as your medium, and two NEW YOGA products as your subject (YOGA 3 Pro & Yoga Tablet 2), to create the next ground-breaking interactive video EVERYONE will be talking about! Go ahead! Grab viewers from their seats and throw them into the action! Show how YOGA can adapt to your life seamlessly no matter what you are doing by creating a video with infinite possibility personalized to each person who views it.
You can get more details of the Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro and Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 from lenovo.com and the Lenovo channel on YouTube. If you want even more examples of what’s possible with Treehouse, we recommend you look at how the Arcade Fire Video and Google Music Cube disrupted the Interactive Video space.
What you need to know:
The goal of this project is to create a highly shareable and immensely engaging 2:00 – 2:30 minute Interactive Video showcasing that no matter what your lifestyle is, YOGA adapts to you. And INTERACTIVE is the key word here. You should use the Interlude capability to pull viewers in deeply, and keep them intrigued by the various scenarios and consequences for the story-lines they choose.
Okay, using the Interlude terminology covered above, what we want you to design is a comprehensive storyline with a minimum of SIX (6) Choice Branches with TWO (2) Outcomes for each, allowing viewers to decide what they want to do or see. That said, there’s no upper limit to the number of Choice Branches or Outcomes you can create. Also, think about ways to customize this video to make it a unique experience for the viewer. The direction should focus more on the story path rather than product choice.
Here’s an example of what that might look like:
Please refer to the linked sample decision tree – it may help you as you continue branching to create a drawing of your own to have the map for the whole adventure in your head.
KEY CHOICES: Your Video should focus on how the different YOGA modes (Laptop: laptop, tablet, stand, tent | Tablet: stand, hold, tilt, hang) give you the freedom to “do it the way you want” by adapting to your lifestyle and needs. Make sure you showcase the Physical Flexibility (convertible form factors) and Harmonious Experience (intuitive and easy to use) YOGA products provide.
Here’s what we want viewers to takeaway:
