** PROJECT UPDATE **
While the Sponsor loved your takes for this project, they are re-opening the Pitch Phase to get some fresh perspectives. Instead of thinking about these as How-To Videos, think about them as EPIC DEMONSTRATIONS. Think about making suspenseful, edge of the seat Videos.
Focus on these two topics:
Topic 1: YOGA TAB 3 PRO - AnyPen feature - Pitch around an EPIC DEMONSTRATION of this product feature.
Topic 2: YOGA 900 - Battery - Pitch around an EPIC DEMONSTRATION of how quickly the battery charges or how long the charge lasts.
How-To Videos come in all shapes and sizes – whether it’s a stop-motion video on baking the the perfect pie, a talking head on creating the perfect cat eye, or a step-by-step on optimizing your sales presentation – the one thing they all tend to have in common is they’re, you know, totally expected.
Working with Tongal, Lenovo is looking to change all that, by asking you to re-invent the “How To” Video; in their words, “taking it from mild to WILD.”
Check out their recent “Boot or Bust” execution for an idea of just how unexpected we’re talking here. Seriously, this is your opportunity to produce something new, bold, highly creative and highly engaging, but before you strap on you parachute and gas up the plane, be sure to read through the project Objectives for more details about the project.
The goal of this project is to create ONE (1) highly engaging, bold out-of-the box and totally unexpected (up to 60-second) How-To Video explaining the key features of their products under ONE of the following topics / products:
Your Video should highlight one of these key product features, the benefit and how to take advantage of that benefit or feature functionality as well as help viewers understand the practical innovation and purposeful design of the product. We want viewers to takeaway that there is a real need for these products in their lives and show them how these products could make their lives easier/better. We want consumers to more fully grasp the value (maybe they didn’t know existed) in their new innovative products and while the topics themselves may not knock your socks off, your proposed video execution should. As a quick recap:
As your 15 second Teaser may be used on Instagram, you may be asked to deliver a version in 640 x 640 SQUARE FORMAT in addition to the 16:9 LETTERBOX FORMAT. Please keep this in mind if selected as a Pitch winner.

This project will be worth a total of $20,000 and consists of TWO (2) Phases: a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video using:
The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $10,000 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 2: VIDEO – The winner from the Pitch Phase will create ONE up to 60-second Video based upon his/her winning Pitch.
--Video Phase Payout: Winner of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $10,000.
--Music: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Audioblocks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.
Tongal members interested in a custom music solution for your project are invited to connect with SCORE A SCORE. They specialize in the creation of custom music, on-demand.
Their business model is based on a "name your price" system, so you can tell them what your budget is, and they will work with you to create a deal configuration that will work within the discussed parameters. Check out the FAQ for more information and how to contact SCORE A SCORE.
If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.
