Background

Calling All Editors! This project is for you -- there's no new footage to shoot, only existing files to play with...

What do you get when you put a black bear from Canada on a Wakeboard in the middle of a lake? A Labatt Blue beer commercial, of course! Labatt is a family of premium beer brands from Canada, and its rich Canadian heritage has a natural tie to the great outdoors. Labatt is currently bringing this distinction to life through its “Get Undomesticated” campaign which showcases its biggest fan, the Labatt Bear, in a series of epic outdoor adventures.  “Get Undomesticated” is Labatt’s call to action to encourage young adults to embrace their wild sides.

To get an idea of the fun content you'll have to work with, watch the TV spot here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuEJeVefN_k and http://youtu.be/GxaqjUtzBOg (If you're selected as the Pitch Winner, the Sponsor will send you the TV spot's raw files and the b-roll footage for the Video Phase.)

Objectives

The goal of this project is to create fifteen engageable and shareable bite-sized (:06 & :15 second) videos for use on social media (see list below in BLUE for specific requirements for each cut). The edits should inspire young adult males to Get Up, Get Out and Get Undomesticated the Labatt way this summer. The individual cuts should be able to be understood as single viewings but should also still align and have consistencies so that all videos are clearly from Labatt and part of this “Wakeboard series.”

Deliverables:

Note: We will use the :06 second videos strictly on Twitter. The :15 second videos will be used on Instagram, Facebook and potentially Twitter as well.

Details

This Project will be worth a total of $10,000 consists of 2 Phases: a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected as the best Editor to execute this project:

The ONE most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $3,000 to help create the Fifteen Videos.  Additionally, upon submitting the Fifteen Videos that satisfy the criteria laid out by the Sponsor (Final Cuts Due: June 1st), the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute this Editing Project effectively in your Fifteen Video submissions, you will win an additional $7,000 for the first place Video prize. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 2: VIDEO – The ONE Pitch winner from the Pitch Phase will edit Fifteen Videos based upon the Sponsor's Deliverable Guidelines as listed in the Objectives Section, and again here below.

The Judges will score the ONE Pitch winner's winning Videos submitted to determine the standings for the Video Phase.  Remember, the ONE Pitch winner will receive a prize.

Deliverables:

Note: We will use the :06 second videos strictly on Twitter. The :15 second videos will be used on Instagram, Facebook and potentially Twitter as well.
