Background

Thank you for your patience throughout this project. In order to speed things up, Listerine Bold International is now going to be split it into 2 projects. We have awarded Story winners for the United Kingdom, Brazil, Japan and Thailand. Pitches will be accepted on the winning Stories for the United Kingdom and Brazil via this project page. The sponsor has elected not to produce Stories for Japan and Thailand. The Stories have been awarded but will remain private and will not be open for Pitches. The Stories for Germany and Australia will be moved to a separate project page that will have similar prizing levels as this project. This will be opened at a later date. Previous entries for Germany and Australia will be moved to the new project and we are going to re-open this Story phase to accept additional submissions.

Before Pitching on this project it is important that you read the remainder of the brief and the Style Guide provided by the sponsor which can be found in the Assets tab.

Please note because of required approvals from the brand, shooting is scheduled to take place sometime between 8/19 and 9/26.

If you have any questions you can ask them on the Project Forum or send to info@tongal.com. Thank you!

Being bold is more than just performing an audacious one-time act: it’s how you live your life on a daily basis. Bold is being courageous, unique, and driven while having a positive impact on the people around you. Bold is not just having a passion for life but having the confidence to act on that passion at every moment, embracing new experiences, new knowledge, and new people.  It’s the ignition that sparks you to the extraordinary.

LISTERINE® wants you to share your story of how you start your day and how that makes you Bold. They want to get to the heart of the daily routines of bold and interesting people. Whether you’re an adventure photographer waking up on the side of a mountain or you bike a street food cart through the Bangkok night markets, your morning routine is where it all starts. Please know they want stories based exclusively in the following markets:

All Story submissions must include a brief summary of who this person is, where they are based, and what makes them bold. Submissions must also include a photo of the participating individual.

A Tongal filmmaker will document each Story winner’s morning routine and a day in their life, from the moment they wake up. How do they prep for the day? What are their morning rituals? And how does LISTERINE® help them feel confident to go out and do Bold things? They want to get a first-hand, authentic look at how fascinating people start their day and how LISTERINE® makes them feel fully ready to go out and be Bold.

Please read the remainder of the brief for all of the important details on this exciting new project!

Objectives

The goal of this project is to document the Bold lives of four (4) incredible people across the United Kingdom and Brazil. Each subject will be documented by one (1) Tongal filmmaker to share how they live life boldly everyday, starting from the moment they wake up – literally – and how LISTERINE® makes them feel fully ready and confident to do Bold things. All videos must include an off-screen LISTERINE® Study of Bold “Researcher” (aka interviewer) who will serve as an interviewer for each Story winner. Producers will need to hire native talent to serve as the Researcher who will ask the necessary questions to help tell the subject’s story and how LISTERINE® fits into their daily routine. For more details on the production requirements of this project please be sure to read the “Important Information for Filmmakers” section at the bottom of this page.

NOTE:  Before crafting your Pitch please look at the Sponsor Style Guide in the Assets tab.

LISTERINE® is NOT looking for stories that capture a one-time daring act, rather they’re looking for people who are authentically bold every day of their lives, whether that’s running a big cat sanctuary in Germany, creating street art in Tokyo, or leading food tours through the favelas of Saõ Paulo.  Stories could also involve someone working toward an overall goal and the audience witnessing the accomplishment of that goal. For example maybe the street artist in Tokyo is working toward an art show they are putting on or the big cat sanctuary manager has a new animal arriving. They certainly don’t have to be specific goal oriented pieces but LISTERINE® doesn’t want to rule it out should the possibility exist.

All Story submissions must include a brief summary of who this person is, where they are based, and what makes them bold. Submissions must also include a photo of the participating individual.

They are looking to capture the daily lives of four (4) Bold Undercover individuals in the following markets:

While there are additional Story awards the Pitch and Video awards will remain the same so the Sponsor will still green light 2 filmmakers to make 2 Videos each.

NOTE: If you submit on behalf of a Story subject please know the following:

--Key Marketing Message:

LISTERINE® ignites the boldness in you.

--Executional Mandatories:

--Tone: Witty, honest, and upbeat. Tongue-in-cheek sense of humor. Challenge conventions, daring, a little rebellious. Celebratory, clever, and unpretentious. NEVER mean-spirited.

--Target Audience: “Fresh Go Getters” ages 25–49 who currently don’t use LISTERINE®. Fresh Go Getters are individuals who always strive to do better, who know that there is always room for improvement. They rely on their personal care routine to bring out their “A-game.” They keep a pulse on news, trends, new tech, and anything else that can positively impact their overall wellbeing.  They are extremely motivated and want to make sure their appearance is a positive reflection of who they are on the inside. Above all else, they are optimistic, curious, and adventurous; never mean-spirited, reckless, or dangerous.

--Exposure: LISTERINE® YouTube channels.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FILMMAKERS

There will be a total of 2 Pitch awards and each Pitch winner will create two videos for each market. One filmmaker will shoot the two winning United Kingdom based Stories and one filmmaker will shoot the two winning Brazil based Stories.

Each filmmaker will create a 90-120 second Video per subject, following them from the moment they wake up through their morning routine and resulting bold day and capture how LISTERINE® helps transform their day from ordinary to bold.  In addition to the 90-120 second videos producers will be required to deliver one (1) 15 OR 30 second teaser, five (5) stills and one (1) .GIF per video. These are all due at the close of the Video Phase.

NOTE: Videos must be in that market’s native language.

NOTE: Before crafting your Pitch please look at the Sponsor Style Guide in the Assets tab.

Pitches must articulate your vision on you plan to capture both Story winners per region.

The structure and style of the videos will be guided by the Style Guide found in the Assets tab. The Style specifies the general structure of the video, cinematic look along with required product usage shots. Each winning producer will be required to participate in pre-production call with the sponsor.

All videos must include an off-screen Study of Bold LISTERINE® “Researcher” (aka interviewer) who will serve as an interviewer for each Story winner. You will need to hire native talent to serve as the Researcher who will ask the necessary questions to help tell the subject’s story and how LISTERINE® fits into their daily routine.

When capturing the off-screen Researcher please record their audio in a way so that it could potentially be subbed out with a universal Researcher should the sponsor elect to use one.

Your two (2) 90-120 second Videos, two (2) 15 OR 30 second teasers, ten (10) stills and two (2) .GIFs are all due at the close of the Video Phase.  Please upload them as separate files when submitting your Videos. The sponsor will be entitled to two sets of revisions.
