** Please check out Sponsor's notes when submitting Scripts! **
We’ve recently launched the Bricktober Toys “R” Us Video Project to create a suite of videos featuring the LEGO Model Shop and now we’re looking for your concepts, scripts and storyboards for a LEGO Toys “R” Us Bricktober TV Commercial to support the same campaign.
As you know, Bricktober is a once a year, month-long event (basically a LEGO store takeover) only at Toys “R” Us. The event features different in-store and online activations each week in the month of October designed to get kids and adults excited about LEGO toys. Bricktober offers kids and adults building events, special offers and unique ways to engage with the LEGO brand.
With this in mind, your concepts, scripts and storyboards should feature a call-to-action to drive people in-store and online to experience the activities associated with LEGO Bricktober only at Toys “R” Us and to ultimately make a LEGO purchase. Your submissions should also create awareness of the unique gift with purchase offering of four minifigure sets (available for a limited time), and remind viewers that Toys “R” Us has a huge selection of LEGO toys and is the world’s greatest toy store!
The goal of this project is to source concepts, scripts and storyboards for a 30-second (with a 15-second cut-down) LEGO Toys “R” Us Bricktober TV Commercial.
Keep in mind your submissions should:
--Key Marketing Messages:
--Target Audience: The target audience is focused on shoppers and consumers.
--Executional Mandatories:
--Tone: The tone should be promotional with a strong call-to-action and urgency to visit the stores, while also highlighting the reasons you love LEGO toys and love Toys “R” Us. Also look at previous Toys "R" Us commercials and videos for additional guidance.
This project will be worth a total of $6,000 and consists of THREE (3) phases: a concept phase, a script phase, a storyboard phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: CONCEPT – Tell us your concept for a LEGO Toys “R” Us Bricktober TV Commercial in 500 characters or less. Remember, a concept is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the video. As always, concepts should be clever and engaging. The TWO (2) winning concept creators will receive $500 each.
PHASE 2: SCRIPT - Submit your script for both a 30-second and 15-second commercial based on one of the winning concepts from the previous phase. The TWO (2) winning script creators will receive $1,000 each.
PHASE 3: STORYBOARD – Submit your storyboard for both a 30-second and 15-second commercial based on one of the winning scripts from the previous phase. The ONE (1) winning storyboard creator will receive $3,000.
