The LEGO Group is looking for a film crew to capture footage at the upcoming grand opening of the 1000th LEGO Store, which will take place at The Shops at La Cantera in San Antonio, Texas. This filming will take place between September 1st - 3rd, and you will be expected to scout the location prior to filming, to ensure that you're properly prepared for the shoot days. This project involves a day and a half of filming overall. You'll be there for the first half of the day on Friday, September 1st for the ribbon cutting and official opening, and then come back for the full day on Sunday, September 3rd for the final brick on the model moment and all of the excitement that comes with that.
Since the event is just around the corner, we're ideally looking for a crew that either is local to the San Antonio area, or that can work as locals, and not necessarily expend budget on travel. Your team will be responsible for all video and audio capture during the event, and once that's complete, LEGO is looking for you to edit together a 2:00 - 2:30 sizzle reel, as well as a :15 POV social video.
To get you started thinking about how to film this, the LEGO Group put together the below shot list of what they're looking to capture during the event for the main sizzle. A more detailed version of this list is included in the Assets section.
For the social cutdown, LEGO wants to create a POV video that shows the grand opening from the viewpoint of a LEGO fan. In order to achieve this, they're hoping to film with with a POV camera/phone rig so we can really capture the first-person perspective (i.e. seeing the "fan's" hands holding up the builds, etc.) They've come up with a separate shot list below that outlines the footage they'd like to capture.
POV shots to include:
As a few callouts, please keep in mind that this filming will take place Labor Day weekend, and there are some very quick turnarounds for edits in the timeline.
