LEGO Club is a FREE-to-join club for young LEGO fans. It includes a magazine delivered directly to members’ doorsteps and a fun online Club HQ. Club members get the latest LEGO news stories, access to contests, engaging and entertaining videos, exclusive building steps for all-new models AND secret missions and rewards, LEGO Club is designed to challenge and inspire young builders everywhere!
Working with Tongal, the LEGO Group is looking for ONE (1) filmmaker to create a fun and sharable video for LEGO Club that not only shows kids and parents how to sign up but also explains WHAT LEGO Club is all about and WHY kids should join! Please read below for more information:
The goal of this project is to create a fun and sharable 60 to 90 second LEGO Club Video (with a 30 second cut-down of the sign-up process tutorial) to encourage kids and parents to sign up for LEGO Club and get the magazine as the reward.
We want children to click from the Video, through to the Club website and, with their parents’ help, create a LEGO ID and then sign up for the print magazine. They will have already viewed an overview of the steps required to streamline the process, and if their parents get stuck they can watch the tutorial video on the Club HQ site.
NOTE: The 60 to 90 second video and 30-second tutorial cut-down are both due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.
--Key Marketing Messages:
The key marketing messages are to show the benefits of LEGO Club, with a focus on the print experience, and an overview of how to sign up to receive the print magazine.
--Target Audience:
The video should appeal to both children and adults and should be age-appropriate for a child between 5 and 9 but also informative for a parent who may need guidance on completing the sign up process for their child.
--Executional Mandatories:
--Tone: The tone of your Video should be fun, funny, informative, and make kids want to receive the Club magazine to get the latest LEGO information with fun activities, contests, building tips and tricks, etc.
--Exposure: Your video will be used across all Club markets (US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Czech Republic, and ANZ) on the Club website and YouTube.
This project will be worth a total of $15,000 and consists of 2 Phases: a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a LEGO Club Video using:
The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $5,000 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $10,000. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 2: VIDEO – The winner from the Pitch Phase will create a 60 to 90 second Video based upon his/her winning Pitch.
NOTE: The 60 to 90 second video and 30-second tutorial cut-down are both due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.
--Video Phase Payout: Winner of the Video Phase will earn the following prize: 1st place $10,000
