MEET OUR IFs (Imaginary Friends)

CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVES:

Objectives

Do you remember the days when your best friend was an imaginary purple dragon named Fluffly? Well, what IF everything you believed as a kid was real? Get ready to revisit those magical memories with the upcoming premiere of IF on May 17th. From writer and director John Krasinski, IF (which stands for imaginary friends) tells the story of a girl who discovers that she can see everyone’s imaginary friends — and what she does with that superpower — as she embarks on a magical adventure to reconnect forgotten IFs with their kids. To help promote the movie, we're looking for social media-savvy creators who can make a captivating and engaging social-first video - something that's clever, fun, and shareable - to resonate with families everywhere.

The goal here is to create a short and entertaining video that generates excitement about the movie. These are NOT meant to feel like ads - we're not looking for a trailer cutdown or anything like that. We want you to tap into your inner child in a way that's really clever and interesting. Primarily, your concepts should encourage families with young kids to go see the movie on the big screen or to get tickets in a fun way. That said, your video should NOT be geared towards children. Instead, it should be geared towards parents with young kids. Think about what YOU as an adult/parent would want to see and let your imagination run wild.

Paramount particularly wants to see concepts that tap into the themes of imagination and play (both for adults and children). But from there, the creative possibilities are endless. Perhaps you're thinking of a fun live-action approach that uses clever transitions or surprising edits to showcase epic pillow fights and daring quests through the land of make-believe that leads us to a movie theater. Maybe you use stop-motion animation to make a room come to life unveiling the poster for the film. All types of executions are on the table, so this project is your chance to unleash your inner child and creativity.

You CAN use IFs from the movie in your concept, but if you do, it should focus on the two main IFs shown in the trailer (Blue and Blossom). You can also use supporting IFs in your concept so long as Blue is included as well. Similarly, you can create your own IF as a part of your concept, but if so, it should have a clear connection to the movie.

Your videos should feel native to the TikTok and Instagram Reels platforms, and lean into the trends and styles that would organically come across your "For You" page. Your pitch treatment should provide at least THREE unique video concepts, and if you're selected, Paramount will work with you to decide which ONE concept will move into production. Paramount is looking to greenlight multiple filmmakers, so the more video concepts you submit, the better your chance of getting greenlit.

We also encourage you to submit an optional proof-of-concept video that illustrates how your idea would come to life. Your proof of concept should be designed for social media, shot in a 9x16 aspect ratio, and up to 30 seconds long. Feel free to include links to any existing social videos (they don't have to be your own) that represent the style you'd be aiming for.

  1. In addition to the standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment, greenlit Video creators MUST also provide Talent, Location, Music (or other) Releases for all assets appearing in their Videos, as well as a photograph/headshot OR copy of a photo ID for all On-camera Talent releases. You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec to claim your earnings. Tongal also reserves the right to request all raw files associated with the project.

  2. Unless provided otherwise, all work must be your own original creation and free of any copyrighted material. You shall provide detailed information of your work regarding the source, the creator and background information as requested by Tongal.

  3. In the event you utilize any third-party materials, such as music provided by a third-party music provider not provided by Tongal, you must obtain full written license and consent from the owner of such third-party materials and provide such license and consent forms to Tongal.

  4. The Sponsor will be entitled to reasonable revisions on the finished Videos without providing additional compensation. Remember it's easier to re-edit than re-shoot so try to get as much coverage as possible.

  5. Preferred format for upload to the Tongal website is HD 720p and formatted for the aspect ratios listed in the Deliverables (e.g. 16x9). Acceptable file formats are .mov, .avi, .mp4, .wmv. 6. BY SUBMITTING A VIDEO ENTRY, YOUR SUBMISSION IMMEDIATELY BECOMES THE SOLE PROPERTY OF TONGAL OR ITS ASSIGNEES - SEE OFFICIAL RULES FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES. YOU MAY NOT PUBLICLY SHARE OR PUBLISH YOUR SUBMISSION IN ANY MANNER AND YOU MAY NOT POST OR UPLOAD YOUR SUBMISSION TO ANY WEBSITE OR VIDEO HOSTING SITE (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE OR VIMEO), WITHOUT THE PRIOR EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT OF TONGAL. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR ENTRY IN THE PROJECT.

  7. You may not contact any employees or members of the Sponsor's organization, their affiliates, or any of their partners. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in disqualification of your entry in the project.

  8. In addition to the judging criteria stated in the OFFICIAL RULES, Pitches will also be evaluated on that member's ability to execute the final Video based on their prior work and experience as a creator.

  9. Videos must be in the English language or subtitled.

  10. Submissions must not portray Sponsor in a negative way, the determination of which will solely reside with Sponsor, nor can Submissions contain any profanity, offensive language, nudity or otherwise objectionable material, the determination of which is solely at the discretion of Sponsor.

  12. The Sponsor reserves the right to repost the contest.

  13. See OFFICIAL RULES for additional contest information, terms and conditions. If there is any conflict or inconsistency between these requirements and the Official Rules, the terms and conditions of these requirements shall prevail.
