Background

Can you feel it? That Christmas Spirit slowly starting to fill the air? The holidays are just around the corner, and before you know it, houses will be covered in twinkling lights, peppermint and eggnog flavors will take over your local coffee shop, but most importantly, it’s socially acceptable to binge watch Christmas movies. Whether it’s Buddy the Elf in search of his father, or Kevin McCallister booby-trapping his house against the Wet Bandits, there’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit than by cozying up to your favorite holiday films.

To help celebrate the holidays, the delicious snack My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream wants you to have a little fun by recreating your favorite holiday movie scenes, inserting MyMo Mochi as a central prop or character. What Christmas movies make your nostalgic heart sing? Whether modern or old, think of your present wrapping favorites, and how you would create swede-styled Videos that humorously inserts My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream into the storyline. Please note, ONE filmmaker will be recreating TWO different scenes/moments.

Here’s what you need to know:

What to include in your Pitch submission:

Objectives

The goal of this project is to produce two entertaining long form Videos -- each accompanied with 15-second cutdowns -- that recreate your favorite holiday movie moments using My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream as a prop or a character. Keep in mind, we’re not looking for a heavily branded piece of My/Mo Mochi content; we want you to have fun and pay tribute to famous movie moments from a holiday classic, and creatively incorporate My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream into it.

Tonally, your Videos should have a feeling of levity. If you’re thinking of recreating a scene that veers more towards serious/endearing, think how you would execute your Video in a way that provides some comedic relief. Whether that stems from how My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream plays into the story, or your characters’ performances, we’re open to it. The goal is to create something that is shareable and memorable.

Deliverables Due:

Tone: Comedic, holiday themed.

Target Audience: “Coastally minded” millennials 18-34 who are smart, independent, interested in a global mindset and love living a fun life.

PRE-PRODUCTION NOTES: This project includes a Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?) before the Video Phase. This means you will be required to submit certain items for Approval before you are able to move into the Video Phase. The Approval item for this project is:

IMPORTANT: You may not begin shooting your Videos until you receive a greenlight from My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream. If you begin shooting your Videos during Pre-Production, there is a chance you will need to re-do work (at your own expense), so please don’t jump the gun.

Details

This Project will be worth a total of $6,000 and consists of 4 Phases: a Pitch Phase, a Pre-Production Phase, a Video Phase, and a Revisions Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute the Animatic.

The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $3,000 to help create their Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED an additional $3,000 at the close of the Video Phase. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 2: PRE-PRODUCTION – The Pitch Winner from the Pitch Phase will enter the Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). During this phase, filmmakers will need to receive the following Approvals from the brand:

You may not begin shooting your Video until your Treatment is approved and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.

PHASE 3: VIDEO – Once the Pre-Production Phase is complete, the Pitch Winner will create a 15-second Video based upon their winning Pitch.

--Video Phase Payout: At the close of the Video Phase, the Pitch Winner will be guaranteed $3,000.

--Music:  Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Jingle Punks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.

Tongal members interested in a custom music solution for your project are invited to connect with SCORE A SCORE.  They specialize in the creation of custom music, on-demand.

Their business model is based on a "name your price" system, so you can tell them what your budget is, and they will work with you to create a deal configuration that will work within the discussed parameters. Check out the FAQ for more information and how to contact SCORE A SCORE.

If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.

PHASE 4: REVISIONS – Once the Video Phase has closed, the winning submitters will enter the Revisions Phase (What is a Revisions Phase?). During this phase, the filmmaker will perform reasonable edits on their Videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback. Once the Videos are finalized, the Sponsor will rank the Videos and winners will be announced.
