Background

More than just the go-to place for writers, filmmakers, and animators to land real work and level up their creative skills, Tongal is also a multi-faceted and supportive global community. One place we love interacting with our creators is on Instagram. As we continue to grow the channel into a fun and enlightening spot for entertainment lovers of all kinds, we’re turning to YOU to help us turn. it. out.

That’s right, we’re tapping into yet another talent within our community, social media savvy! We’d like for you to either get inspired by and extend the types of content we’re already posting to the channel OR help us establish new creative directions that will resonate with our core audience. We love memes, but we want to challenge you to think beyond just that format.

And because things on social media happen quickly and trends come and go in the blink of an eye, we’ll be checking submissions throughout the month and may award yours early if it’s tied to a trending topic.

What are we looking for:

  1. General Interest Entertainment Content
    • Cool stories, trivia, or little known facts about the entertainment industry (Great option for WRITERS. Example: Who was Millicent Patrick and why was she such a BAMF?)
    • Submitted content doesn't need to be wholly original. You could also help us identify and curate content from other creators that we could repost to our channel, just include the link in the "notes" section of your submission (Examples of stuff we like)
  2. Content Aimed at Creators (writers, filmmakers, animators)
    • Submit your own creator-focused #MondayMotivation quotes and images (Example: Walt Disney on curiosity)
    • Original DIY creator content (Example: Quick n dirty table dolly)
    • Behind the scenes photos of your Tongal projects - or personal creative projects. Show us what #SetLife is all about (focus on your crew or camera setup, not the client/brand. Here are examples from our feed.)
    • Memes that speak to a broad creative community or Tongalers specifically (Example: Does this timeline spark joy?)
  3. Tongalers-Only
    • Quick video testimonials telling us what Tongal means to you
    • :15 vertical videos that we can feature during our weekly Instagram Stories shows, Green Lit or Friday I'm in Love (or completely original vids for a new show/segment)
    • Content that creatively promotes and helps other creators discover the Tongal website, our projects, or resources  (Examples: Highlighting our Invite Friends referral program or drawing attention to community-written blog posts)
  4. If you're unsure if you're on the right track, ask in the Project Forum!

Objectives

The goal of this project is to identify at least 10 ready-to-post submissions (images and videos) for Tongal’s Instagram channel. Go ahead, check out what we’ve already posted and think about how you can help keep the party going.

Pay special attention to the specs provided in the Executional Mandatories below to make sure your submission(s) meet them. If we select your submission, you'll get paid and we’ll credit you as the creator (and tag you if possible) when we post to Instagram!
