Background

Dogs are so much more than our pets, they’re our four-legged wingmen accompanying us on all of our journeys.  Eukanuba’s formula is the fuel your Dog needs to match you pace-for-pace when you find that perfect trail, hit that spot-on stride, throw that ideal Hail Mary, or just take your daily stroll around the neighborhood.

Eukanuba is issuing a challenge to Make the Change with the Eukanuba Effect. Switch to Eukanuba dog food for 4 weeks straight and start seeing the noticeable improvements in your dog.  Eukanuba has clinically proven ingredients that help provide optimal digestion, healthy skin and a radiant coat, sustained energy, and reduced tartar build-up.

Also, Eukanuba is so confident in Tongalers, that they want YOU to document these lucky Dogs’ transformations – with a puppy, adult, or even senior dog! We’re going to pair up winning dog owners and winning filmmakers from all across America to capture the “Before” and “After” phases of the The Eukanuba Effect. Let’s be honest, everybody loves a great makeover story!

Objectives

The goal of this project is to create a creative and compelling docu-style 2-3 minute video that shows the transformation of an adorable, loyal, man’s best friend throughout the “Before” and “After” phases of the The Eukanuba Effect.

Your videos should revolutionize the consumer understanding about dog food -- that a dog food can affect a dog over time, no different than how the food we eat affects how we look and feel. If you can start seeing changes in your dog after just 4 weeks, imagine what Eukanuba can do over a lifetime!

Tell us, why are you the perfect dog / dog owner combination to be profiled to experience The Eukanuba Effect. What do you do that makes conquering this experience important to your lifestyle and meaningful to your life? Why is your story / your dog’s story more unique or compelling than just your average Joe + Fido? You can upload pictures of you and your dog, or a self-generated video clip to help plead your case.

--Key Marketing Message:

--Target Audience: Owners of dogs who share a healthy, active lifestyle with their pets. They desire high quality nutrition and the best for their dog.

--Executional Mandatories: Videos must focus on changes with the dog. Use appropriate content, avoid direct claims, and use discretion on how product is portrayed such as being conscious of food safety.

--Tone: Bold, Mighty, Confident, Aspirational yet obtainable. Shows appreciation for happy moments shared with dog. Tell a great story.

--Exposure: Digital, Social Media Channels

Recommendation for Switching Dog Food: Use a gradual transition: Introduce the new food progressively over a seven- to ten-day period by mixing it with your dog’s old food. Begin with a proportion of about 25% (1/4) new food to 75% old food. Gradually increase the amount of new and decrease the amount of old food until you are feeding only the new diet. Be aware of the feeding guidelines on the bag, since the amount may differ from your current feeding quantity.

Details

This Project will be worth a total of $85,000 and consists of three Phases: a Story Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

This Project is only open to submissions from the United States.

PHASE 1: STORY - Tell us your Pet Owner’s Story – why are you and your dog perfect for experiencing The Eukanuba Effect?  Tell us in 500 characters or less.  Stories should show the potential for change in a dog’s routine or appearance and be authentic and engaging. The winning Storytellers will receive $1,000 each, a 5% one-time residual payment for any winning Videos based on their Story AND a one month supply of a Eukanuba Formula.

 • IMPORTANT NOTE 1 – In order for your entry to be considered, you must provide a picture of you and your dog along with your 500-character Story submission.

 • IMPORTANT NOTE 2 – Payment for a win in this phase will be contingent on your cooperation with the winning filmmaker selected to bring your Story to life. Failure to cooperate may result in disqualification from the project.

PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What Is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Eukanuba why you should be selected to execute a Video documenting The Eukanuba Effect, based on one of the winning Stories from the previous Phase using:

The 4 most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $5,000 to help create the Video.  In this case that amount is larger than normal to help cover any travel costs to the Story Winner’s location, etc.  Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $5,000 at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $25,000  First Place video prize. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

• IMPORTANT NOTE TO PITCH SUBMITTERS - If you win in the Pitch Phase, you will be required to make your own travel arrangements to film the Story winner from the previous phase at least TWO times to capture the "before" and "after" phases of the Eukanuba Effect.

PHASE 3: VIDEO – The 4 pitch winners from the Pitch Phase will each create a 2-3 minute Video based upon their winning Pitch. All other creators are invited to enter a Wildcard (What Is a Wildcard?) documenting their own Dog’s (or a friend/family member’s) experience of The Eukanuba Effect. The Judges will score all Wildcard submissions and the highest scoring Wildcard Video with the 4 winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners will be scored to determine the standings for the Video Phase.  Remember, the 4 Pitch winners, along with the 1 Wildcard creator, will receive prizes.

--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $25,000, 2nd place $13,000, 3rd Place $10,000, 4th place $8,000, 5th place $5,000.

You may use up to THREE total tracks per Video submission, and they can come from any of the three providers listed above. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form.
