Think you know the next Ken Burns? Refer him to Tongal!

We’re looking to expand our documentary filmmaker roster and need your help! We’re looking for you to refer TEN (10) super talented documentary filmmakers (who have NEVER won on Tongal) to our site.

Interested? Please read below for more information:

• The referrals will be judged on the following criteria: technical ability, storytelling, past work and overall style.
• We also want YOU to show us that your referred filmmaker has the chops to pull off an amazing documentary. Link to their past projects or other relevant work that will give us a good idea of what he/she is capable of creating.
• If you are a filmmaker who has won on Tongal, you can still earn $250 by referring one of your talented friends if he/she has not won on Tongal.
• You must actually know your referral personally. For example, if you refer Ken Burns, you better know Ken Burns. Tell us know you know your referral in the "Referral" text box.
• If you are a documentary filmmaker who has not won on Tongal, you CAN refer yourself!
• If more than one individual submits the same referral, the first to submit will be considered the winner.
• If you submit an individual who also submits himself/herself, then the individual will be considered the winner.

The goal of this project is to source TEN (10) new documentary filmmakers to our site.

This project will be worth a total of $2,500 and consists of a Referral Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: REFERRAL - Submit your Referral of a documentary filmmaker using:

• Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less telling us why the documentary filmmaker you are referring is awesome.
• Links (REQUIRED): To the documentary filmmaker’s previous video work. Please specify his/her role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.). Please link to individual videos.
• Contact Information (REQUIRED): To the documentary filmmaker.
• Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to tell us why the documentary filmmaker you are referring is awesome.

The TEN (10) most compelling Referrals will be selected and will each receive $250.

1. BY SUBMITTING A REFERRAL ENTRY, YOUR SUBMISSION IMMEDIATELY BECOMES THE SOLE PROPERTY OF TONGAL OR ITS ASSIGNEES – SEE OFFICIAL RULES FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES. YOU MAY NOT PUBLICLY SHARE OR PUBLISH YOUR SUBMISSION IN ANY MANNER AND YOU MAY NOT POST OR UPLOAD YOUR SUBMISSION TO ANY WEBSITE OR VIDEO HOSTING SITE (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE OR VIMEO), WITHOUT THE PRIOR EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT OF TONGAL. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR ENTRY IN THE PROJECT.

2. By submitting to this project, you acknowledge that your work may become subject to public voting on the Tongal site. Public voting may be used to help the project sponsor determine the final rank order.

3. Submissions must be in the English language or subtitled.

4. Limit 5 submissions per member, per Phase.

5. You must be at least thirteen (13) years or older to enter.

6. In the event that fewer than 50 Referrals are received, the Sponsor reserves the right to repost the contest for up to fourteen (14) days at their discretion.
