You know those simple solutions you stumble upon sometimes that just, WORK? That nagging problem you had – it’s gone! And there you are, staring at this new wonder, having a light bulb moment, asking, “How did I even function without this thing before?” If you’re dealing with damp, stale, musty odors, the kind you get in a laundry room, or that bathroom you don’t like to use, DampRid is your new wonder.
Enclosed spaces often trap excess moisture and develop odors that seem to permeate everything, and that moisture can even damage your home and your possessions…or lead to mold and mildew, which is decidedly more gross. Yet as common as it is, most of us don’t understand the problem, much less have any idea what to do about it. Luckily, DampRid moisture absorbers are an incredibly easy, effective, and inexpensive solution. It is safe and natural, using calcium chloride crystals to attract and trap the excess moisture in the room, bringing the humidity down to an ideal level - and all you need to do is place DampRid where you need it.
DampRid's customers are very satisfied with their results, but the big problem is that many consumers aren’t aware of DampRid or know that there’s a solution to those damp stale air and musty odors. That’s where you come in! Please check out the rest of the brief for all of the important details
The goal of this project is to create a 30-second docu-style Video with a 15-second cut-down and Suite of Images (5 stills, and 1 Banner-ad ready Image in four sizes) that introduces consumers to DampRid through a success story that feels real and authentic, and communicates how relevant and useful it can be for anyone dealing with excess moisture. DampRid has found that many people who discover their product discover it through good word of mouth from someone who’s already used and been satisfied with it, and they want the Video to feel just like that. So if you have your own success story, or know someone who does – great! Tell that story.
The Video itself should focus on the common problem of excess humidity, and show how DampRid is a simple and effective solution to that problem – rather than offer a detailed explanation of how DampRid works.
NOTE: The 30-second Videos, 15-second cut-down, and Suite of Images (5 stills, and 1 Banner-ad ready Image in four sizes) are all due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them separately when submitting your Videos.
Pitch winners will also be required to get final brand approval on a treatment for their Video (both 30-second Video and 15-second cut-down).

PHASE 1: STORY – Tell us your DampRid Success Story in 500 characters or less. If it makes sense, please include a picture of your Story subjects in your submission. The winning Story creators will receive $500 each and a 5% one-time residual payment for any Video based on their Story. If you win in the Pitch Phase, you will be required to make your own travel arrangements to film the Story winner from the previous phase, if travel is required.
The 2 most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $6,000 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $8,000, at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $13,000 First Place video prize (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Story winners). All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 3: VIDEO – The 2 winners from the Pitch Phase will each create a 30-second Video based upon their winning Pitch, along with a 15-second Cut-down, and Suite of Photos (5 Still Photos and 1 banner-ad ready Image in four sizes).
NOTE: The 30-second Video, 15-second Cut-down, and suite of 5 Still Photos with 1 banner-ad ready Image in four sizes are all due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.
All other creators are invited to enter a Wildcard (What Is a Wildcard?) submission that can be based on one of the winning Stories from the previous Phase, or a totally original concept that is not based on any winning material from the Story Phase. The Judges will score all Wildcard submissions and the highest scoring Wildcard Video, along with the 2 winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners, will be scored to determine the standings for the Video Phase. Remember, both the 2 Pitch winners, and the 1 Wildcard creator, will receive prizes.
--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $13,000, 2nd place $10,000, and 3rd place $8,000 (less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to the Story winners, as applicable).
