Background

Be sure to check out the winning designs other Chucky projects we've done with USA & SYFY in the past to get your creative juices flowing. USA & SYFY are NOT looking for replicas of any style in particular here. Instead, these should give you a sense of the breadth of artistic styles and overall quality level that we're looking for.

SEASON ONE EPISODIC POSTERS FOR INSPIRATION:

SEASON TWO EPISODIC POSTERS FOR INSPIRATION:

Objectives

Washington, D.C., a new type of candidate is heading to town. Season 3 of USA & SYFY's Chucky TV series is about to premiere on October 4th, and to get fans excited about the upcoming season's new setting in our nation's capital, we want YOU to design a political campaign-style poster that blends the iconography of Washington, D.C. with the iconic killer doll. Make sure to check out Chucky’s press conference announcing the season 3 premiere - D.C. is about to get Chucked up!

USA & SYFY are looking for four different artists to each design one political campaign-style poster that showcases Chucky at his patriotic best. You're encouraged to lean into the legacy of the Founding Fathers, iconic presidential campaign art, and/or pop culture references to our nation's capital, but your posters CANNOT refer to any current events or take any kind of political stance. You can create a more traditional campaign poster, or you can use famous American political images as a creative jumping off point. For example, what would it look like if Chucky were crossing the Delaware instead of George Washington? What if Chucky were recast as Uncle Sam - or Rosie the Riveter?

Most political campaign posters contain some sort of text or messaging on them. While text is NOT required on your poster, if you do plan on including some sort of message, please give us an idea of what you're thinking. One important note: your design CANNOT feature the likenesses of any actors in the Chucky TV series.

To give us an idea of the visual approach you're going for, we're asking that you submit links to your artist portfolio, along with a PDF document containing three examples of past work that are representative of the artistic style you'd use to create your design. We're looking for a variety of styles and aesthetics here, so you are welcome to showcase different artistic variations. The important part here is giving us an idea of how your personal style, the Chucky universe, and the Washington, D.C. setting intersect. If helpful, you also have the option to submit a proof-of-concept image. Check out more details in the Background section, or reach out in the Project Forum if you have any questions.
