Background

PAST VIDEOS FOR REFERENCE - Bank of America prides itself on being an advocate, partner, and financier of minority-owned small businesses across the country. Whether they’re just starting out or have already established themselves, small businesses need a trusted partner to help them sustain and grow to their full potential. Please refer to Bank of America's past video projects for an understanding of how they prefer to spotlight small business owners:

ABOUT CHICA BEAUTY - Toni and Mei-Lon Jimenez are third-generation Latinas who were born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. They are passionate entrepreneurs who are dedicated to revolutionizing the beauty industry, empowering women and girls, and giving back to the local community. Their first venture into entrepreneurship was in 2009, when they launched ChicaGirl Magazine, a digital magazine that celebrated the stories and successes of real San Antonio girls. From there, they launched Chica Beauty, with the goal of creating a makeup brand that matched their lifestyle and values and making it the go-to brand for on-the-go beauty.

Chica Beauty is based out of San Antonio, Texas, where production will take place. Please do not contact Toni or Mei-Lon as part of your Pitch.

Objectives

***Please Note that only U.S. Residents are eligible to submit for this project.***

The goal of this project is to create a 1-2 minute video following sisters Toni and Mei-Lon Jimenez and their business, Chica Beauty. Toni and Mei-Lon are third-generation Latinas who started their company in 2018, with the goal of helping real women simplify their beauty routine with cruelty-free and chemical-free makeup.

In telling Chica Beauty's small business story, we're looking to put Toni and Mei-Lon Jimenez and their entrepreneurial journey at the forefront and position Bank of America as a supporting role in the narrative. This will involve filming both an engaging on-camera video interview and B-roll footage that showcases both their business and their personal lives. Bank of America wants this to feel cinematic and elevated, and they're really looking for that perfect blend between polished commercial images and raw documentary coverage. By the end of the video, audiences should feel inspired by Toni and Mei-Lon's journey, while also understanding some of the services Bank of America has provided along the way.

During the process of interviewing Toni and Mei-Lon Jimenez, you'll also need to interview Bank of America's President of Small Business and Head of Specialty Bank & Lending. The executive will serve as the Bank's representative, and speak in further detail about Bank of America's commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs and helping small business owners grow and realize their dreams.

As an added way of authentically capturing Mei-Lon and Toni Jimenez's business and entrepreneurial spirit, you'll need to film b-roll footage of an actual Chica Beauty photoshoot. This photo shoot will be entirely planned by Chica Beauty, and you won't need to organize or budget extra for this; your only responsibility will be to film b-roll of Toni and Mei-Lon in their element during the shoot.

Importantly, this project requires that both the Hero video and a :60 cutdown be delivered in both English and Spanish. You should plan on having a full day for filming both the English language and Spanish language interviews with Toni and Mei-Lon, and we expect that, if you don't speak Spanish yourself, you'll have a Spanish translator who will both be on set and also review all cuts of Spanish-language deliverables. While on set, the translator must be able to act as point on continuity. This might involve reviewing playback on set and taking notes to ensure consistency between answers in English and Spanish.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them in the project forum.
