Background

Calling all cold-brew aficionados!

Most people think of Chameleon Cold-Brew coffee as their morning, afternoon, or evening pick me-up. With a super smooth taste, low-acidity levels, and most importantly, a strong buzz, it’s a delicious way to get your caffeine fix. And while cold-brew is a great way to fuel your day, it’s even better paired with your favorite foods – or better yet, in your favorite foods. Why have your cold-brew plain when you can have it as an Iced Rose Adaptogen Latte?

To illustrate the different ways to enjoy Chameleon Cold-Brew, we’re asking for your help to create a suite of Instagram and Facebook videos that showcases Chameleon Cold-Brew recipes.

Now put on your foodie thinking caps and read onto the Objective section for more important details on this project.

Objectives

Create six (6) vertical 15-second videos for Instagram Stories and Facebook utilizing Chameleon Cold-Brew’s recipes. Your Videos need to feature each of the supplied recipes below. You will deliver these in a 9:16 (vertical) format. An additional cut of 4:5 (vertical) is also required, so organize your compositions accordingly. Each video will also need to incorporate a call to action that invites viewers to see more recipes on Chameleon Cold-Brew’s website.

Given that these are product focused Videos, think of the product and food as the hero. We want to see the product and recipes/food pairings more than the people – for example, hands holding the bottles, cutting food, pouring and mixing concentrates and ingredients, rather than full body, portrait style shots of the talent. Secondly, it’s important to the brand that these have really cohesive structure across the suite — each Video should follow a similar framework that makes them feel like they are each a piece of the collective. Please include your take on this structure in your Pitch treatment.

Most importantly, your videos will be featured primarily on Instagram, so think about filmmaking and editing styles that would work within this context – i.e. the use of text and on screen graphics to help tell the story in the event that someone watches with the sound off. Please check out our one sheet on Facebook and Instagram best practices in the assets tab.

Filmmakers: You are required to submit a mood board/style board with your Pitch that conveys the thematic design idea for the overall suite of videos. We also strongly encourage you to include links to your food/beverage stylist’s previous work to help the Sponsor get a better sense of how you plan to style the product and food in your videos.

Chameleon Cold-Brew is a brand that values visual continuity and is specific about their brand aesthetic. So, please be sure to check out the brand guidelines and mood boards in the Asset tab to ensure everything from casting, color palette, to wardrobe aligns with the Chameleon Cold-Brew identity. In addition to those materials, we’ve included the following Video to give you an idea of the type of Videos we are looking to create in terms of look and feel.

The Recipes:

Your videos will each feature one of the following recipes. Detailed recipe cards are available in the assets tab so please make sure to check them out.

Details

This Project will be worth a total of $30,000 and consists of 5 Phases: A Pitch Phase, a Pre-Production Phase, a Video Phase, a Revisions Phase, and an Assets Delivery phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: PITCH:

The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $15,000 to help create the Video.  Please note the payment of the Pitch award is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, completing Sponsor notes, providing the necessary release forms, and providing all assets required by the sponsor the Pitch winner will receive a final payment of $15,000. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 2: PRE-PRODUCTION – The Pitch Winner from the Pitch Phase will enter the Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). During this phase, filmmakers will need to receive the following Approvals from the brand:

No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase before you have received final approval, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense).

For your convenience we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a Treatment, Production Budget, Storyboards, Shot List, Call Sheet, and a Music Cue Sheet.  They can all be accessed here.

PHASE 3: VIDEO – Once the Pre-Production Phase is complete, the Pitch Winner(s) will each create a 15 Second Video based upon their winning Pitch.

NOTE: The 15 second 9x16 vertical videos and 15 second 4x5 vertical video cuts are all due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.

--Video Phase Payout: Upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, completing Sponsor notes, providing the necessary release forms, and providing all assets required by the sponsor the Pitch winner will receive a final payment of $10000.

PHASE 4: REVISIONS – Once the Video Phase has closed, the winning submitters will enter the Revisions Phase (What is a Revisions Phase?). During this phase, filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their Videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback.

PHASE 5: ASSETS DELIVERY - You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec in order to submit final payment. Also, in addition to the project files, you are also required to provide all raw footage on a hard drive. You will be responsible for the costs associated the hard drive and shipping.
