INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY IS MONDAY, MARCH 8TH

International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women's achievements or rally for women's equality.

Marked annually on March 8th, International Women's Day is one of the most important days of the year to:

2021 IWD THEME

The IWD 2021 campaign theme is #ChooseToChallenge. A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge.

Objectives

International Women's Day is coming up on Monday, March 8th. It's a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. To honor the occasion, Nickelodeon wants you to create either a piece of artwork, a graphic design, a carousel of images, or a GIF for social media that celebrates International Women's Day in a way that's educational, approachable, and fun for kids and teens.

Your design can take almost any form - it could be a painting, a drawing, a photograph with a poem or design, a themed carousel of images (like the ones in the Background section), a quote from a historical figure, some kind of animated GIF, or something else entirely. The only critical thing is that your design must highlight and celebrate diverse women from all backgrounds, and be appropriate for Nickelodeon's audience of kids and teens. Your design can highlight historical figures that kids should know about, or it can celebrate women making an impact today. Your design concept should also celebrate International Women's Day in an inclusive and educational way.

If you do plan to highlight historical or current public figures in your design, please make sure to list who you plan to depict in the Text section of your pitch. You can also include a public figure in your proof-of-concept artwork, but please note that you may need to change the person depicted in the revisions phase pending Nick's approval. Nick considers "public figures" to be figures from history, pop culture, entertainment, and politics.

You can also feature popular Nickelodeon animated characters in your design, but any use of the characters would also be subject to Nick's approval. Describe your approach for using the characters in the Text section of your pitch, and if greenlit, be prepared to alter your direction based on Nick's feedback.

For the pitch phase, we're asking that you create a proof-of-concept artwork that gives us a sense of what your final piece would look like. Check out more information in the Background / Additional Details section, and for any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.
