Background

For the past few years, the majority of posts on the Tongal Blog have been written by creators on Tongal through our always-on Blog Open Call projects. Now, we're taking the by Tongalers, for Tongalers ethos to a new level by introducing a new feature on the blog, a creator-focused advice column written entirely by the Tongal community.

The Tongal Blog features a mix of Tongal-centric information alongside more general interest topics related to creativity, entertainment, video production, and the lifestyle of independent creatives, all of which are fair game to explore in the "Dear Tongal" advice column as well. To increase the odds of having our question selected, study the Tongal Blog to understand the content we’ve published in the past - and avoid any topics we’ve already covered.

If you have more experience than questions when it comes to filmmaking, stay tuned because you'll have the opportunity to pitch to answer Tongal creator questions in another project later this month.

Objectives

Very soon, Tongal is going to be introducing a new advice column about filmmaking and the creative process - we're calling it "Dear Tongal" - and it's going to be written entirely by Tongal creators with the expertise and experience to help others navigate the unique challenges we all face when it comes to video production, animation, screenwriting, and post-production.

The goal of this project is to source the first batch of questions. Want to know more about the business of being an independent creator or how to solve a creative problem in your story or workflow? Looking for pointers on building a creative team or which gear to rent for your project? Any question or challenge that's interesting and relatable for other creators is welcome, and if yours is selected to be featured, we'll credit you with a link back to your Tongal portfolio when the column is published.
