Background

Suite Option A: T-Mobile Employee Benefits - T-Mobile would like to focus on these 5 key employee benefits. You can find more information in their publicly available Benefits Guide, but the key messaging for your videos is covered below. Note that this messaging is NOT necessarily copy that you'd use in your video, so don't just take it word for word.

Suite Option B: Company Sustainability & Responsibility + Military Benefits - T-Mobile would like to focus this suite on a mix of their corporate sustainability and responsibility efforts, as well as some of the benefits they offer to veterans and members of the military. This messaging is NOT necessarily copy that you'd use in your video, so don't just take it word for word.

PREVIOUS T-MOBILE GIFS: These are just a few of the recent GIFs and videos created on Tongal, and they're a good example of how much stylistic diversity and freedom you have in approaching this project. For the static image assets, take a look at these and imagine what a single frame would look like.

Objectives

T-Mobile's always got a lot of good stuff going on, and although we often talk about all the cool products and services it's got, this time around we're talking about what a dope place it is to work, and we're going to spotlight some of the incredible work they're doing for their employees, their communities, and the world at large. As usual, we're going to do it with cool visuals too, so - animators, illustrators, and all you other wizards of design - you get to have some fun here. In this project, T-Mobile wants us to create a mix of short animated social videos and static images that their own employees can post on social media to tell people about the different kinds of benefits they offer, and what T-Mobile is doing for sustainability and corporate responsibility.

The goal here is to greenlight two different creators, who will each then create a suite of ten total assets: three videos, and seven static images. The content needs to be bright, creative, striking, and exciting, and it will cover a range of topics: some topics will require both a short animated video and a static image, but some will only require two static images. Either way, they should convey key messaging about the various things that set T-Mobile apart. Videos can be anywhere from :05 to :20, but know that when they're used, they'll LOOP, so it'd be cool if you planned for that. In particular, keep in mind that music shouldn't just cut out abruptly, and that sound effects tend to be more effective.

There are ten topics that T-Mobile would like to cover, but they've been divided into two separate suites, so you won't be responsible for everything. You're free to pick whichever suite you like best when you submit, but you can also pitch against both. Obviously, please indicate in your pitch which suite you're basing your creative on. The two suites are below, but there's a lot more information in the Background.

Suite A: T-Mobile Employee Benefits

Suite B: Sustainability & Responsibility + Military Benefits

Stylistically, we are looking for variety, and in the world of animation we're open to 2D and traditional motion graphics, but also stop motion, 3D, papercraft, mixed media, or something else entirely. You should also keep in mind that this is primarily for T-Mobile's employees to share, and they're gonna share this on their own social feeds, for their own family and friends and business contacts. That means your style can't feel über corporate. Polished and professional, sure, but T-Mobile's the Un-carrier - think cool, clever, even a little quirky. You can use stock photography, but we don't want to see stock photos of smiling actors against a magenta background with some text - that's boring. We're also looking for more than motion text with crazy abstract shapes and lines. We've shared a ton of different cool examples down in the Background, and you'll see there's A LOT of variety.

Your suite should certainly feel cohesive, but each asset should work on its own, and the includes the static images, which should be original assets and NOT just screengrabs from a video. Consider that there's a level of graphic design that's expected and that you'll need to include text for the main messages. You may easily alter some of the information that is already on the T-Mobile website for that messaging by taking one or two lines of the benefit and sustainability description. In other words, you won't need to create brand-new copy; instead, consider how you may combine copy with compelling visuals.

For your pitch, we highly recommend submitting a proof of concept video or static image along with your Treatment. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.
